Guy shows Dave DOG AND AUNT (犬とおばさん) from 1995... sigh... well, we're ready to see our subscribers drop dramatically after this crap. We first became aware of this repugnant film way back in our NEIGH MEANS YES episode, and, after a year and a bit, Guy dredged the gutter and managed to unearth it. DOG AND AUNT is directed by well-known female pinku director Sachi Hamano and tells a sweat-ridden tale of the love between an aunt and an Old English Sheepdog. This is a real film. We promise. And we're very, very sorry.

Dave shows Guy THE BONEYARD from 1991, directed by special effects artist James Cummins. While the DVD cover may feature a goofy zombie poodle, this film is legitimately shocking at times with some of the most horrifying corpse effects in cinema history. Child zombies, Phyllis Diller, gross slime, failed suicide attempts, and psychic trauma–this is one hell of a schizophrenic films!

Guy shows Dave ZOMBI VIII: URBAN DECAY from 2021 and seriously puts their friendship in jeopardy. This unofficial sequel to Lucio Fulci's zombie classic is truly unlike anything we've covered before (and hopefully never will again). With its slow motion footage of goth-hippy girls dancing topless to rap tunes by MC Dirty D, this is worlds apart from its source material. This film may also hold the record for the most stock footage ever used in a feature film. Enjoy our descent into madness as we watch a spider make a web for ten minutes.

Dave shows Guy SUPER XUXA CONTRA BAIXO ASTRAL aka SUPER XUXA VERSUS THE DOWN MOOD from 1988. This Brazilian film stars the legendary Xuxa, known in her home country as the "Queen of the Little Ones". The target audience for SUPER XUXA is kids, so expect a lot of crystals and rainbows. However, also prepare yourself for an upsetting caterpillar puppet, a dolphin who is worried about his eyes being plucked out, finger-severing, Nickelodeon-esque sewerage sliming, and a damning social commentary on the environment and bureaucracy! To help us unpack all of this, we are joined by SUPER XUXA's co-director, David Sonnenschein! This is a wild one!

While this is perhaps not the usual thing we cover, it features a single scene that is among the wrongest moments captured on camera and left us both utterly gobsmacked. Also along for the ride: rocket launchers, back-breaking stunts, helicopter chase scenes, sauna beatings, and a bizarre connection to one of our earlier podcast episodes! This is a fun one.

Dave shows Guy HYPER VILLAIN from 2011! This is one of the most upsetting films we've covered in a while and a definite outlier in the career of fake documentary maverick Koji Shiraishi. We follow the titular Hyper Villain, a serial rapist and head-basher, as he prepares to celebrate the anniversary of his first sexual assault. While it sounds unbelievably grim (and it is), this teeters between genres, becoming very blackly funny as it wallows in disgusting obscenity. Join us for another uncomfortable watch!

Guy digs deep, uncovering a lot of information about its production. He even finds the answer to a question that has been bothering everyone on Letterboxd: How exactly did that girl die after just getting a cake thrown in her face? So, join us for strange video game monsters, school girls morphing into monsters, and birthday parties gone awry!
