Episode 22 of the Show Me South County Podcast features Jerica Mosello from Milk & My Honey - a high fashion and function clothing and accessories company for nursing moms. This South County based business was "born" from the frustrations Jerica experienced as a new mom while trying to find clothes that made her feel and look her best while also being super functional to nurse her baby.
It was like the post postpartum fashion industry was forcing nursing moms to choose between wearing cute outfits that made them feel great and confident about their bodies, or outfits that made it easy to nurse their babies. There was nothing that combined great fashion with high functionality.
So that's why South County native Jerica Mosello started her passion business, Milk & My Honey.

On Episode 19 of the Show Me South County Podcast I welcomed John Armengol from Andre's Banquets & Catering. One of my favorite things about doing this podcast is learning the stories behind businesses that have been a staple in South County for decades. Before having John on the podcast, I never knew that Andre's has been a family run business since his dad John Armengol, Sr started the business in 1980.

Andre's has built an amazing reputation over the years as one of the best places to have your wedding reception or private event in South County. But over the past decade or so, Andre's has expanded and grown like crazy. They now offer 13 locations (and counting) across the region. They have an event space for every budget.

Congratulations to the Oakville Tigers boys varsity basketball team and their 2021 District Championship. Fresh off their big victory over Fox, coach Traxler was kind enough to come on the show. Being a life long athlete and now having kids of my own who love competing in sports, I loved talking to coach Traxler.
On this episode of the Show Me South County Podcast, you'll hear:
Cheer On The Tigers In Poplar Bluff
The team's next game in their quest for the state championship is against Poplar Bluff in Poplar Bluff on Tuesday, March 9th at 6 P.M. There are not crowd restrictions due to COVID in the Poplar Bluff gymnasium, so let's have a fun and safe road trip and pack the gym with Tiger fans!
One Episode 15 I was joined by Tommy Irwin, the owner of Cloverleaf Sports Lounge in Oakville. Cloverleaf is a great sports bar in South St. Louis County with a fantastic game day atmosphere. They pack 19 big flat screen TVs into a space that's less than 2,000 square feet. So there's not a bad seat in the house when you stop in to catch a game or two.
Everyone Loves Tommy's Balls
Cloverleaf Sports Lounge is quickly becoming known for their signature menu item... BALLS! Tommy talks to us about how he came up with this delicious creation (and why he loves to say "BALLS." 🤣) Trust me, once you hear all the flavors they have, you're going to be hungry. And you're going to laugh at Tommy talking about them!

Welcome to Episode 14 of the Show Me South County Podcast with Kevin Duy. This episode launched on February 19th. So, it's not exactly Christmastime. But, we currently have about 6-8 inches of snow on the ground and frozen ponds and lakes all across South County. So one could argue that there's definitely a Christmas feel in the cold air!
Best Christmas Light Display In St. Louis
My guest on today's episode is Jeff Ehlemeyer. Jeff is quickly becoming known as the Affton Christmas Lights and Train Guy. That's because over the last few years Jeff has had one of the best Christmas Light displays in St. Louis. Actually, I wouldn't even call it a display. What Jeff has created in his front yard is a magical Christmas Experience for children young and old.
Christmas Train Rides For Kids
Jeff loves Christmas and he wanted to go beyond having a cool light display. He wanted to create a memorable experience for kids. For the past two Christmas seasons he has been giving kids free train rides through his Christmas wonderland display at his Affton home.
Donations For Shriner's Children's Hospital
Jeff accepts donations for the display and train rides and this year he was able to donate nearly $3,000 to the St. Louis Shriner's Children's Hospital - all from the donations he collected in his front yard this past Christmas!
On This Episode
Jeff shares:
Thanks for listening!

South County is full of impressive and ambitious young adults. John Allen and his older sister Theresa Allen are two of them. John had an idea to create a brand and apparel business around supporting first responders. He not only wants to help support first responders, but he also wants to help people view them in a more positive light.
John is currently studying at St. Louis Community College and plans on pursuing a law enforcement career. His sister Theresa brings a keen eye for design and business savvy to the company. Together they make a great team for this startup apparel brand.
You can see and order their merchandise on their website Shop-RTB.com.
John has also been setting up a booth at Small Business Saturdays events at Oakville Sports Pub and OSP Tap Haus. Respect The Badge also provides local porch drop off services.
