Happy Halloween!
(I loove this time of the year)
In this podcast, I touch on….
-Dialectics (opposite of Black & White thinking)
-”Showing up Perfect” & Procrastination
-Being the Judge of others: of course, I am using a highly, polarizing individual like Kanye West (personal step into dialectics when you’re showing up in relationships)
-Misunderstandings & Not Showing Up Emotionally Available
-Dream Journals
(….and we will go into a lil Part 2…)
Being “Perfect”
I don’t know about you, but I like to do things well, and show up properly. I like to have as much info as I can, and then make the best move.
But…
Is that a problem?
Is that the problem?
Is that good, really?
To be considering every option, everyone’s else’s opinion than just…
showing up and living??
aiming for a goal that isn’t possible?
“Just say it out loud to see how it feels, weigh all the options”
Showing Up Imperfectly
Oftentimes my best conversations, are the one’s I am not planning, not thinking too much about: I’m just acting on my intuition, whatever I feel pulled to say and do, regardless of what kind of reaction I receive.
The reason this is important is that is respecting myself and building trust with myself by carrying out activities that are meant for me to do, not ignoring them or making them seem insignificant, or saying I will do something “someday”.
There is no someday, but there’s certainly today, this moment to do what you feel pulled to do.
“ …People Say, ‘Don’t Say this, Don’t say that’… ”
I am just a person, I am not God, and I am not the judge. (And neither are you.)
It’s not my right to judge other people and their decisions, doesn’t matter who they are.
It is my right to not be involved with individuals, or people I dont feel aligned with, but it’s not my right to grab pitchforks, fire and to talk about how horrible someone is.
And those who enjoy doing that, I’d say you are hyper-focusing on hating others because there’s something you hate about yourself.
This is why many people who aren’t growing, or have unhealthy beliefs, surround themselves around others who are not growing as well because it makes them feel good about themselves!
So, it’s easier to hyper focus and project that onto others rather than dealing with your own bad behavior.
You can point out your friends’ mistakes to them all while making your ego feel better while you are procrastinating, not making any progress on developing relationships, and not dealing with negative beliefs.
Not a Fan of Therapy?
Well, there’s absolutely free options to work on your mental health and letting go of the past.
It’s normal not to feel comfortable talking to mental health experts you do not know, you are not connected with and don’t yet trust, I feel that’s totally normal.
If that is you, well then, it will be you and a journal!
and no judgment. ( leave that with your judgmental caregivers, in the past (; )
Free writing, letting your emotions out or your thoughts can be extremely beneficial especially if you work a stressful job or have a stressful, busy life in general with kids or friends, your businesses, hobbies etc.
I think of us like storage systems: we need a place to transfer the data we absorb from the days and the interactions we have: and a great, safe open place for that is with yourself, your thoughts, and your journal.
Thanks for reading! Thanks for coming with an open mind.
Much Love,
Ashley
