Double Take closes on an exploration of fantastical, surrealist, and childlike tales told through film. Both fantasy epics walk a fine line between dream and reality. Was it all real? Was any of it real? Regardless, the wonderful visuals inhabiting every frame of this double bill is enchanting.

This mini-series takes you through the programme day-by-day. We move to Disrupting Masculinity, which screens Moonlight and Beau Travail on Mon 17 Aug at Showroom.

The double bill seeks to recognise and recontextualise masculinity through two stories about men in rigid systems of power. From Chiron’s adolescence in Miami, to the strict routines in a troop of French Foreign Legionnaires, these films ask what does it mean to be a man, and does it take turning your back on society to stay true to yourself.

This mini-series takes you through the programme day-by-day. We continue with Centre Stage at Any Age who bring All About Eve and Death Becomes her to Showroom on Sun 16 August.

This double bill conveys how women are often pressured by the media to have plastic surgery and rejuvenation. The group do not aim to criticise these lifestyle choices, but rather to emphasise the theme that no one should feel pressured to do this, and that everyone should have the right to feel happy with their appearance and value, whatever their age.

This mini-series takes you through the programme day-by-day. We continue with Daring to be Fabulous who present Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Sat 15 August.

Dress to the nines and celebrate two powerful stories of roadtrips, music and self acceptance. One an iconic, Australian drag adventure, the other, a cult favourite rock opera, and a strong reminder of the power of being yourself. After the films we welcome local performer Ditzy o' Darlin in for a raucous night of Drag Bingo!

These two alternative romances explore relationships and opportunities that we have missed for various reasons, whether they are out of our control, determined by our past or objections that are embedded in society. This includes learning to accept past connections that we have missed or can't have and focus on new experiences.
