Join host Demian Servín Hernández as he speaks with Natalie Davila-Rendon, a systems engineer at Lockheed Martin and a true powerhouse in the STEM community. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Natalie pursued Electrical Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico and furthered her education with a Masters in Electrical Engineering and Systems Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and Johns Hopkins University, respectively.

Natalie's journey with SHPE began during her undergrad when she discovered a flier promoting SHPE’s scholarship program. From there, her involvement skyrocketed as she took on leadership roles, including Chapter President. Today, as a Lifetime Member and a member of the National Board of Directors, Natalie continues to advocate for the SHPE Familia.

In this episode, Natalie shares how SHPE helped her fund her education and land her dream job at NASA. She emphasizes the importance of SHPE in her career and encourages the future Hispanic STEM community to leverage SHPE as a vehicle for achieving their goals.

Antonina Robles, a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program Manager at HP in Boise, Idaho, has a remarkable journey from working in the fields of Idaho to becoming a prominent figure in STEM. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Boise State University, Antonina's story is one of perseverance and passion.

Growing up in Mexico, moving to Idaho at the age of 10, and starting work in the fields at 13, Antonina's parents instilled in her the importance of education. At 17, she transitioned from the fields to an internship at HP, where she discovered her love for STEM and became "SHPEnotized." Her dedication to SHPE began during her university days and has continued to grow. From serving as the National Student Representative to becoming SHPE’s National Affairs Committee Chairwoman and mentoring in the Equipando Padres program, Antonina's commitment to the organization is unwavering.

In this episode, Antonina shares her unique perspective as a working professional, a mother of five daughters, and a leader in DEI. Her enthusiasm for the future of SHPE and the next generation of STEM leaders is truly contagious.

Despite their unique journeys, both Fernanda and Sonia have navigated the challenges of being women in male-dominated fields, staying true to themselves while unapologetically pursuing their professional goals.
