In Season 2, Episode 17, Dr. David and Dr. Rob start with Old Crow in a fancy bottle and end up with the central problem of American politics right now: putting confidence in the place where competence is supposed to go.

Trump sold himself as the guy who could fix the vacuum, clean the house, and somehow rebuild the engine by throwing tools at it. But salesmanship is not governance. Certainty is not strategy. And a gold bottle does not make bad bourbon better.

This episode looks at why people mistake confidence for competence, how systems lose their ability to correct error, and why Congress keeps acting like the drunk friend’s buddies who keep buying him shots instead of taking away the car keys.
