We were delighted to welcome past pupil, Louise O’Neill, back to Sacred Heart today to record a podcast.

Louise, an acclaimed author, answered student-generated questions about her memories of school, her writing career and her influences. The interview was led by TY students, Ellen and Emily, who were fantastic.

Brendan McCormack is interviewed by Transition Year students Aimee Mulcahy and  Leah Murphy.  Rosaleen Boahan was the sound engineer.

This is not Brendan’s first visit to SHSS. In 2019, he gave a talk to second years about Save Our Skibbereen and the fight to prevent a plastics factory from being built close to the town. Today he spoke about Green Skibbereen, sustainability and CECAS (Centre of Excellence for Climate Action and Sustainability),  an environmental organisation located at Myross Wood House in Leap.

Callum Donnelly, a Skibbereen based entrepreneur and business development expert with Waylay.io speaks to Transition Year students Rosaleen Boahan and Orla Whelton. Callum spoke of the benefits of remote working and how the Ludgate Hub in Skibbereen has revitalised the area. He gave great advice to the students as he spoke of his own journey.
