Well friends, this week Cyrus and Katie watched Baghead (2023), a movie about, well, a ghost or a witch or the ghost of a witch with a bag on its head that can reconnect you with your deceased loved ones - sort of. This one really suffers from being a crappier version of talk to me, but the creative choice to have the central horror figure straight up Eat An iPhone is one we'll be talking about for years to come.

This week, your intrepid horror homies dive into Bad Things (2023), a pretty obvious homage to the Shining about maybe-haunted hotels, messy queer friend groups, withholding moms, how hot Molly Ringwald is at fifty-right, and how hard it is to be a terminal fuckup.

Shudder really is the gift that keeps on giving, and this week it gave us the brainchild of Nathan Shepka, The Baby in the Basket (2025), a movie that is trying really really hard to be a love letter to the tradition of gothic horror and nunsploitation but instead is just kind of a total nothingburger. Conversation includes our car-buying woes, the merits of just Winnie-the-Pooh-ing, and how long is too long for a jerking off scene.

This week, we're jumping the line to Speak No Evil, a Dutch/Danish co-production and SHUDDER original released in 2022. We've previously watched the Blumhouse remake of this film, released in 2024, and wanted to check out the much-more-brutal original and boy did we have a good time with it. Topics of conversation include our impossibly stupid chickens, the difference between the Danish and the Dutch, the daily abuse Katie visits upon Cyrus, and when to just say Fuck This And Leave.

Bad Moon is what happens when you cross a Hallmark movie from the POV of a dog with a schlocky werewolf movie with lots of nudity and a weirdly long sex scene---and yet, as good as that sounds, Katie and Cyrus were less than impressed. It's all about the duality of man and wolf, man.

In celebration of THE ORIGIN OF EVIL (Katie's birthday), we're talking about one of Katie's favorite movies: From Dusk Till Dawn! We talk about the big twist, the joys of practical effects, and the fact that Sex Machine is CLEARLY a trans man. Cyrus will accept no alternatives.

It's always a bummer when a movie that bills itself as a queer and transgender film is not nearly as good as the reviews might lead you to believe—especially when it was also directed by an 18-year-old. Luckily Cyrus is trans and Katie hates teens, so they're both here to set the record, erm, straight. Cyrus talks at length about their complicated feelings on how queer representation is handled in movies, and Katie says "GENDAFLUID!" in the Chucky voice.
