In this week’s episode we officially welcome Jason Snow as a full-time member of the Shut Up and Dad crew! Our guess this week is Josh Brennan of The Changing Perspectives podcast, a show that he co-hosts with his high-school sweetheart turned wife. Their podcast is a show that is equal parts education and entertainment, which touches on a variety of different subjects that are important to us all. Josh shares his perspective on the age at which a child should get their first phone, a subject that Chris recently had to navigate. Along with the appropriate age, he also recommends an app called Life360 that he uses, not only to track his children’s location, but also the amount of charge that their devices have! How did a Midwestern Snow think Narragansett was pronounced? Is Josh able to properly pronounce the city name of Charlotte, Michigan? Hilarity ensues as the Midwestern Shut Up and Dad hosts and East Coast Josh discuss beer brands, city names, and other words that are not pronounced the way one would think. Lastly find out how a theater/band kid, who quit playing sports when he was in middle school, turned into the multi-sport coach of his kids’ baseball and football teams. Tim, Chris, and Jim find kindred spirits in Josh in his musical and theater past, while Snow finds kinship with Josh in their coaching experience.We almost always have a beer when we're recording, and we decided we may start listing out what we had, to help promote the brands we like. Happy 4th of July. We hadn't planned on releasing an episode this week but we stuck around for a few extra minutes after recording Erik's episode to talk about toxic masculinity and the active shooter drill that happened in Tim's home town.

This week we are missing someone, and the guest of one of our most popular episodes to date returns to fill in for him. This episode gets heated from the start when Tim brings up his stance on vaccinations and gets heavy as we talk to our guest about what it's like as a couple to go through so much medically. Epilepsy, brain surgeries, loss of reproductive organs, how is it possible to come out on the other side with a healthy and beautiful 14 week old daughter? Guess you're going to have to listen to find out. And what possibly embarrassing misinterpretation did Tim make to Erik's original email to Shut Up and Dad, expressing interest in being on the show?

In this episode, Tim and the gang have a week in reflection. Who had the biggest parenting fail? Is it possible that there wasn’t one? Unlikely... Listen to find out!Recording the episode, the day after Father’s Day, we thought that it would only be appropriate to have a Shut-Up and Dad conversation about our weekend, in lieu of interviewing a guest. Tune in to hear what each of us did for our special weekend. Who got the coolest gift(s)? Did somebody get a combo Father’s Day/Birthday gift? Did somebody else have to eat crow and admit that they bought something after completely trash talking it? Father’s Day was not the only thing that happened last week, however. The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) was held last week. Topics discussed include the pros and cons of game streaming services, such as Google Stadia, games that Chris is excited about, and our overall takeaway from the event. Of course, no discussion about video games would be complete without Tim mentioning his love for Overwatch. How many times did he bring Overwatch up? You will have to tune in to find out. Lastly, this will be Chris’ last episode for a few weeks as he is taking time off for a medical procedure. Get the low down of what is going on and when Chris will return at the end of the show... and who will fill in while he's out!

Mark is so incredibly passionate about being a father as well as supporting every single father worldwide, which is his main idea behind creating his brand. This song has special meaning to me as I spent hours and hours using this song to create a video for my oldest daughter's first birthday. Chris Daughtry himself describes the song as, "Lyrically, this song is kind of like a letter to my kids, all of them," he said. "No matter where you are, I'm always going to be Dad. In this week’s episode, we talk to father of six children, Mark Dalman! Mark has five daughters and one son, ranging in age from 21 to 7 years of age. With this many children, how does a father make any time for himself or his marriage?Mark is a member of the same church that Tim and his family attend. Our discussion gets very personal as Mark explains how his Christian faith has helped him through some of the toughest moments that any parent can face. We talk about his oldest child’s struggle with cancer as well as the challenges of raising his youngest who has Autism.No show would be complete without a discussion on parenting fails. We discuss the use of adult language by our children and how we handle those situations. What word did Mark’s son use? Where did he learn that word? You'll have to listen to find out.Mark leaves us with some great advice on living in the moment with your children as they grow up. We only get so much time with them as children.
