Steve Pierce and Robby McCombs fire up the mics once again after BYU’s dramatic win over the Gonzaga Bulldogs. We discuss each player that contributed to the Cougars’ win over the Zags and what they mean for this team moving forward.

Now that BYU is virtually ensured a spot in the NCAA Tournament, how far and high can this squad realistically go? We break down the ceiling for this team, as well as styles and weaknesses that could give them trouble in the weeks ahead.

Steve Pierce and Robby McCombs take a break from their offseason downtime to parachute in for a special bonus episode to break down every facet of BYU basketball's hire of Mark Pope as the program's new head coach. We talk about how we got  to this point, drop some inside knowledge on how BYU finally got Pope's name on the dotted line, and share our views on the move and how Pope might change the program moving forward.

Okay, hear us out: The BYU Men’s Basketball season was a disappointment for all, including us here at Shut Up and Jimmer. Steve, Robby, and Phil tie a knot on this season by talking about some things they found impressive (yes, we were impressed this year) and a lot about things that did not go well. We talk about beating our in-state rivals, lack of player development, and everything in between.

Then, we give a lot of time to discussing the future of the coaching staff for this program. Has Dave Rose coached his last game in Cougar Blue? Who is his most likely successor? Who do we actually want to be the coach next year? Find out all this and more on this episode of Shut Up and Jimmer.

After a two week hiatus, the podcast returns! Robby McCombs and Phil Hiatt team up to look back at what was good and not so good from the regular season performance from BYU Basketball. They also discuss the recent news surrounding the program. Was TJ Haws snubbed out of the All-WCC team? What will new signee Taylor Miller bring next season?

Then, the guys look ahead to the WCC Tournament and what BYU is up against. Robby and Phil look at potential opponents for the Quarterfinal game and discuss BYU’s chances against Saint Mary’s in the Semifinals and even the potential of a final match-up with Gonzaga. 

BYU Basketball really stepped up and showed out this past week, and Shut Up and Jimmer noticed. With the impressive sweep of San Diego and LMU, BYU is in the #2 spot, a game and a half ahead of San Francisco and Saint Mary’s. 

Join Steve, Robby, and Phil as they discuss the good and the bad from last week’s impressive come from behind victories. We hit on BYU’s improved shooting and shortened lineup, before we take an extended look at what postseason possibilities BYU has waiting for them. Then, we finish it up by previewing Steve’s “Game of the Season” against USF on Thursday and the showdown at the Kennel on Saturday.

 After 2 easy wins last week, BYU Basketball looks to arguably the most pivotal week of their season with 2 crucial road games. 

Guys! BYU put 2 solid wins back-to-back! To the surprise of many, especially here at Shut Up and Jimmer, they have put themselves in a solid position to push for the 2nd seed in the WCC. 

Steve Pierce and Robby McCombs join up once again to discuss the good and the bad of BYU Basketball. They pump the brakes on the win against Portland, (come on, it’s Portland) and look to what the call BYU’s biggest 2 game stretch of the season - at San Diego and at LMU. If BYU wins those games, they get the inside track to the #2 seed in the WCC Tournament. How do the guys think BYU will fare? 

Before you get too nervous, we promise to only talk about the Gonzaga game for about ten minutes. After that, it’s all smiles on Shut Up and Jimmer. This week, we break down our favorite coaching decision of the season - starting the one and only, Gavin Baxter. Join Robby McCombs and Steve Pierce as they break down the above-the-rim high of Gavin Baxter’s first start at BYU. They look at the changes he brings to BYU’s offense AND defense, as well as what he can do to help take the pressure of Yoeli Childs. The boys also recognize the outstanding performance of Nick Emery against LMU and what that potentially means for him moving forward. They finish up by giving a short preview of BYU’s upcoming games against Portland and Pacific this week.

The Shut Up and Jimmer is real! We at Shut Up and Jimmer are very proud with the fight that BYU Basketball showed in their surprise victory over St. Mary’s last week. They proved us wrong, which is what we are hoping for again. 

This week, BYU Basketball has their toughest opponent of the season coming to town. Steve Pierce and Robby McCombs go low on the blocks to preview what the high-powered Gonzaga Bulldogs will bring to the Marriott Center. They look at what BYU did effectively last week and how they can look to duplicate their performance, and also give their predictions for the game Saturday against LMU.

 The BYU basketball season rolls on, and so do we at Shut Up and Jimmer with episode 11. The guys talk about the things you want to hear, and even some of the things you would rather not.
