A good guide that really gives you the information you're looking for!
Like so many other people I know there is a novel inside me trying very hard to get out! Because it has been years since I've written anything besides emails and work reports, I wanted to brush up on my creative writing skills. I know with the internet you can find most things - but I'm old enough to want a physical book that I could read, make notations, highlight and go back to whenever I needed. This book offers basic easy to read and understand guidelines. I thought I'd end up buying several different books like this one, but I don't think I need them. I'm far from my goal of writing everyday but as I go through the process this book will be with me for the journey!

Shut Up and Write is an invaluable guide, and is a must-have for anyone who wants to get serious about writing. Judy Bridges' insight and guidance is critical for writers of all levels(Chapter 10: A Hatful of Rabbits should be required reading for anyone interested in writing successfully). It is full of encouraging advice that will get even the most reluctant authors to pick up a pen . Shut Up and Write is written in a light and entertaining style by a writer who truly loves the craft and is generous enough to share her talent and knowledge with the rest of us.

Judy Bridges captures the best of "how to write" with a style of writing that models the information. The book is practical, contains all the basics and could easily be used as a text for a writing class or a guide book for the person seeking to begin or improve their writing. I have read many "how to" writing books. This one goes to the head of the class.
