Some of you listening today have vivid memories of life before the smartphone. Some of you listening today can hardly remember ever being without a smartphone in your life. My Grandma Myhrwold used to tell me, "There is so much good in the worst of us and so much bad in the best of us, it behooves us all not to talk about the rest of us." I think of that quip when I think of smartphones. There is so much good in them...but there is so much that is not good for us in them as well. We need to pause, to think about how they are captivating our lives, and then make a decision that puts us in charge of them.
Thanks for listening.
