For the first episode of Season 2 #HeritageBusinesses - I sit with Mr. Anant Roongta-MD of Famous Studio, which was the first office of RK Studios! We took a walk through Pure Nostalgia. Him being the third generation heir to the iconic #Famous studios in Mumbai, a virtual landmark of Mumbai, makes a case - "It's important to be careless as an entrepreneur and make mistakes". We shot at Famous for this episode where you take an eyeful of this prestigious landmark. An amazing story of Bollywood in its yesteryears and the golden era of Celluloid and megastars. Anant himself had TWO takes to begin his journey with his family business. His passions were split between aviation & movies and this was through his experiences of meeting megastars in movies & cricket. From handheld manual art work, telecine, smoke & fire machines era to digitisation & AI. This is a poignant & honest narration of the ebbs & flow of the art, movie & advertisement industry in all their myriad colors is a lovely one to sit through! From his decision to join this industry, flirting with the sports industry, and back to basics, Anant tells tales of Megastars, his life decisions, their impact, and how they shaped the future.

I sat down with Mr Amit Sarda, Founder/MD of a successful National beauty & wellness brand, a vociferous animal lover with a passion for Indian products. He remains an affable man and can chat at length about anything in the world…A wide-ranging commentary on Indian ingredients, stark food, the importance of analytics in the retail industry, and a lot about the beauty industry. As a businessman who started selling his products from scratch, he definitely navigates the balance between passion and his business milestones. A prolific example of a homegrown business & a super successful homegrown brand, Mr Amit Sarda often comments publicly on retail, marketing, businesses, and startups. Through his art, he makes a strong commentary on urbanization. Remaining indebted to his teachers and to nature for inspiration, this soft-spoken artist now hangs his artwork proudly at NMACC. Sriranjan Srinivasan, associate professor in fashion academia drops truth bombs about teaching the new generation, the shifted dynamics of student teacher relationships. With vast generational differences in his graduating and entering batch, he takes us through insights that we as outsiders will be unable to detect. Technology playing a huge role in design schools now further adds pressure on teachers to update themselves, But beneath all of that Sriranjan points - the importance of the humane guidance roles of teachers and that one cannot take that away. The growth of fashion industry in India has been slow and currently enjoying it’s boom time.
