In this episode, we’re joined by the wonderful Debbie! Debbie has worked at Make-A-Wish NZ for over ten years and now does so remotely from her caravan across the country!
We had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Debbie one Sunday morning about Make-A-Wish and learnt how people can support this worthy cause.
This episode was packed with information from learning how to host a Bake-A-Wish fundraiser, to hearing heartwarming wish stories. This episode is definitely worth a listen and we are now even bigger fans of what this organisation does for Kiwi kids and their families.

In this episode we’re joined by Jane Ludemann, founder of Cure our Ovarian Cancer. Jane founded the only dedicated ovarian cancer charity in Aotearoa in 2018, after her own diagnosis.
She’s an incredible woman on a mission to save lives. When she has a spare moment, Jane loves to head off on tramping trips and spend time outdoors. We talk to Jane about current ovarian cancer outcomes, and the research, advocacy, and support work she is spearheading to help women with ovarian cancer live better, longer lives.

Welcome to SI chats where we, Soroptimist International of Rangatahi Wellington, share stories and learnings to educate, enable and empower.
In this episode we introduce our Ovarian Cancer podcast series, where we are learning more about ovarian cancer, 1 of the 5 gynaecological cancers.
Your hosts Maddy and Jess, introduce what ovarian cancer is, share why they’ve created the series, and touch on a few key things they’ve learnt so far.
This is just the beginning, and also just one of many areas where Soroptimists across Aotearoa are taking action as part of a wider national project to raise awareness of ovarian cancer.
By listening you’ll help us have the conversations that will bring about change. Make sure to subscribe, so you don’t miss an episode in this very thought provoking series.
