Welcome to another Face To Face Podcast!!!
Listen to the journey of Pau, BS Nursing graduate, wanted to be a doctor, worked in Dubai for a few months to now earning from her passion working as a PR Marketing manager. She is a proud single mom of two young boys and will always choose Pera over Pagibig (Kusa naman daw kasing kinakaltas iyon). :)
Her first hustle was earning from her Kikayness. She used to make necklaces, bracelets and earrings made of beads for her classmates and friends. From making some for herself at first, to then selling it in their school. Until now she still has that Kikay in her, proof is her FB page below.

After graduation she went to Dubai, went back home and was welcomed to the reality that our hospitals has no vacancies for nurses like her and needed to work as a call center agent just to make ends meet.
She had a realization that her current earning was not enough when she had her first born.
Her career transition jumpstarted when her last Contact Center company suddenly closed and she started taking offhsore jobs, writing articles for companies, at a measly rate of 35 cents per article. Getting her clients from then our go to site, ODesk.
During the pandemic she was working 5 jobs.
"Iyong oras na meron ako, dapat maging pera", this is how she treats her free time now. She downsized her client portfolio from having 5 to 3, while still getting the same monthly compensation, but has more free time now.
Let's meet and liste to paula's story.
Hope you enjoy and pick a lesson or two from our special guest, Paula!!!
Happy New Year Everyone!!!

In 2021, she decided to take a leap of faith. Sold everything she had, even some of her organs, brought just two towels with her and decided to pursue her Masters Degree in Computer Science. 2022, she started her new journey. Looking for places to eat, learning how to commute and finding a dorm near her University. Also, looking for a job J. If anybody has some recommendations do reach out to me or her directly. J
During this time she had her greatest realization, that she had bought so many small things throughout the years. She has so many ballpens, shoes and even wall clocks that she didn’t really need. She definitely could have used that money for something else more essential.
“If you can’t bring it with you when you migrate to another country, you definitely don’t need to buy it just because it’s cute”
She is just in her early 40s but she already has her life planned out. She plans to retire at her retirement home, at a cozy farm lot in Quezon, living a simple life and eating freshly picked vegetables. Simple life is a happy life indeed.
Hope you enjoy and pick a lesson or two from our special guest, Melanie General.
