Sibanye can't afford demands by striking workers

Gold and platinum producer Sibanye-Stillwater says it cannot afford to meet the demands of the striking workers at its gold operations. Workers are demanding a thousand rand a month wage increase, while the company has revised its offer to 850 rands. The two major trade unions - the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) and the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) - declared a strike on the 9th of March.  Elvis Presslin spoke to Sibanye-Stillwater spokesperson James Wellsted....
