In this episode, Ignacio Ayala is joined by Sibylline Ltd's Principal Analyst for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey Noam Ostfeld, to discuss 3,000 pagers owned by Hezbollah operatives exploding simultaneously across Lebanon and Syria. It is believed that Hezbollah's suspicion of the devices may have triggered the detonations. While this is plausible, a more recent second round of explosions—this time involving handheld radios (walkie-talkies)—seems more deliberate, particularly as it coincided with funeral processions for those killed in initial blasts.

In this episode, Ignacio Ayala is joined by regional experts Megan Sutcliffe and Noam Ostfeld to unpack three deadly strikes in the Middle East that represent a significant escalation in regional tensions. First, on 27 July there was a strike in the Golan Heights that killed at least 12 minors on a football pitch. Israel responded to this attack with a targeted assassination of Hizballah's senior-most military commander in Beirut. This exchange was then followed by yet another strike on 31 July in Tehran which killed Hamas political chief Ismail Haniya. Listen as Megan and Noam break down each strike and the potential ramifications for the region.
