Connecting the story of Meraglim, prohibition of idolatry and the violater of Shabbos (mekoshesh eitzim)
In 1927 under the cruel Russian communism, the previous river sacrificed his life to keep Judaism in my life, but then after the hurricane and imprisonment, he was finally about to to be released, but he would not leave as he didn’t want to reach his destination on a Shabbos.
How could we explain why was that so important to him not to disrated the Shabbos in lieu of saving his own life from the terrible dangerous prison?
What is the connection
Between a person who violates the Shabbos and a person who worships idols?
and to the spies that felt the need to scout out the land of Israel before we take it over.
In parsha shelach these three themes are mentioned there.
