It's the SEASON FINALE! That's right, it's time to close this thing down. What better way to do it than watching a movie? We challenged ourselves and you all to sit down and watch a movie you have to READ. You had to watch some kind of foreign film that you don't natively speak the language for.
In addition to the final quest, we announced the MVP of the season and looked back on the quests that were most fun for us. It's been a fun ride and we've loved spending it with you all. Thanks for joining us on the ride!
This week's challenge was to reconnect with old friends. Find people that you miss and want to chat with and catch up. As time goes on, we tend to get busy and lose track of people that are or used to be very important to us. Our hosts all had different experiences with this and came out with different results. It was a fun chat!
Next up! Watch a foreign language film! That's right. As a reward for working your butts off for a whole 8 episodes, you finally get to relax and just watch a movie. The big stretch here is to watch a movie in a language that is not your own! There is a huge library of fantastic films from all over the world, and it's certainly worth taking a look at some of those. So get out there and find something you have to read while you watch. You wont' regret it!
Next Quest
The next episode is our FINALE, so there won't be another quest to vote for. At least not until Season 2. What you can do is let us know how this season went! Did you have fun? Were there things you would change? Would you like the challenges to be more challenging or less challenging?
This week's challenge was to cook with an obscure ingredient. We had to step outside our comfort zone and find something that was unusual. To guide us on our journey we spun the wheel of death and came up with these ingredients:
1. Non-chicken eggs
2. Black garlic
3. Horseradish or Wasabi
How'd we do? Listen to find out!
Next up! Reconnect with old friends! We all have those people we look back and think fondly of, but how many times do we pick up the phone to call them? This challenge is all about taking the leap and having a chat with someone that you haven't spoken to in a while. Someone who's friendship means enough to you that having a chat with them would be a nice thing to do. We all have our lists, let's give them a call!

This week's challenge was to get dropped off 2 miles away from a central point and find your way back. It was the first challenge we imagined when we dreamed up this show and was an exciting one to finally get to do. Travis, Jacob, and Stephen each picked each other's drop off point and simply hoped for the best. Could these folks use their skills and innate sense of direction to find their way home? Listen to find out!
Each of their journeys were documented and can be found at the following links:

Next up! Cook with an obscure ingredient! That's right! If you choose to join us you need to cook a meal with one of the following ingredients. Start with the first and if you can't find it locally, move onto the next one.
1. Non-chicken eggs
2. Black garlic
3. Horseradish or Wasabi
Good luck, chefs!

On this episode, we take a look at how our week with one screenless hour before bed went. It was probably the most challenging of our quests that we've done so far, for multiple reasons.
We also introduced the FREE SPACE! You'll learn about it on the show, but the gist of it is that you can skip ONE quest during this season and still be eligible for the prize at the end of the season. You can use it retroactively, or plan ahead to an upcoming quest. It's up to you.
Choose Wisely.
Our next quest, should you choose to accept it:
Get driven 2 miles away blindfolded and find your way back!
No GPS. No extra tips from a friend. Just you, the dusty trail, and whoever you might run into on the way. Use your wits and resources to figure out where you are and plot a course! If you would like to bring a friend, that is PERMITTED. Just make sure that friend has no more information than you do and is ALSO blindfolded when being driven around. Stay safe and have fun!
Up next! Do we reconnect with lost friends or cook with an obscure ingredient? It's up to you! GO VOTE!
On this episode, we look back on our quest to draw something for seven days! What a ride that was! We actually ended up discussing more about art and how we approach it than we expected to. It was fun to dive into all the nuance around artists and how they create what they do. I know for sure we all came out having learned a thing or two about our own creative pursuits. Jacob was unable to be with us this episode because he's busy off hunting jackalope in Ohio. We'll be glad to have him back next week!
Our next quest, should you choose to accept it:
No screens one hour before bed!
That's right! Put that phone down, stop playing video games, and get your head right for one hour before you go to sleep. We realize not everyone has a set bedtime, so in that case just do your best to predict your sleepytime and cut out stimulating entertainment before then. We look forward to hearing about your plans and strategies in Discord or by sending an email to [email protected]
Up next! Do we clean a park or get driven 2 miles away and have to find our way back home? It's up to you! GO VOTE!
On this episode, we review the latest quest as decided on by our wonderful audience: Face Your Death. It can be a daunting exercise to figure out what's going to need to be done when you're not around to do it. You won't be around for people to ask questions, or chat about wishes. It's up to us while we're still breathing oxygen to make these decisions and have these tough conversations. The crew took this challenge in various directions and had a good chat on what is most important to each of us, and we came away with some great ideas from each other.
Next up! We're going to be Drawing something everyday!
That's right, as voted on by the audience, we're going to draw something everyday and share it using the hashtag #2dorksdraws on all the social platforms, posting it in our #side-quests channel on discord, or sending an email to [email protected].
I'm really excited to see what you come up with. You don't even have to know how to draw. The goal here is to just flex those creative muscles and put something on paper. Don't be embarrassed. Art is art and everyone is just excited to see folks participating. We'll vote on the best one on the next episode, so get your entries in!
NEXT POLL
The next vote is ...
Cook something with an obscure ingredient vs Screenless hour aka don't use a screen an hour before bedtime
Get on it!
Quest #1 is complete! We each crafted 3 out of 4 of our worldwide recipes on the way to this episode. We're going to be doing the remaining one over the next week. This was a fun challange, but timing was actually tougher than we thought. We had some excellent submissions from listeners including several *delicious* looking recipes from Daniora in our chat. She can cook!
Now that that is out of the way, we're moving on to Quest #2 which is FACE YOUR DEATH. That's right! Get your crap together because you're gonna die. The statistics on death are at a pretty solid 100% and if we plan ahead, it's likely that we'll save our loved ones an awful lot of heartache when the time comes. So get busy planning!
Some ideas:
We expect this one to be pretty heavy, but it doesn't have to be. Focus on a life well lived and how you want others to celebrate it. It's all up to you! If you complete the challenge, put a notch in your virtual punch card.
In the meantime, be sure to vote for our next challenge at https://2dorks.net/poll
Next week we'll decide between:
Thanks for joining us!
It's the first episode of our new show, Side Quests! It's a weekly challenge podcast where you get to vote on what challenge we do AND play along at home!
This first episode went over the rules and picked our first challenge: Culinary World Tour! We're challenging ourselves, and you, to create 4 dishes from different countries over the next week. Maybe you never cook Korean food? Now's your chance! Stretch those skills and show us what you're made of!
Everyone who participates in *every* challenge for the season and sends us feedback about how it went, will get some sweet Side Quests swag!
For next week, be sure to listen to the episode and vote on our NEXT challenges at https://2dorks.net/poll
We are so excited to start this adventure with you all. Let's do the thing!
