In this lesson, Deacon Travis DePonte discusses our chosen words and their power.

Travis will discuss James 3: 2-10, which highlights the power of our tongue, comparing it to a small spark that can set a great forest ablaze. He will discuss the duality of our speech, and how it can be used both as a source for good and a source for destruction. Practical application will be provided on how to choose words that reflect Christ's love, building up and blessing those around you instead of cursing and tearing them down.

He will discuss the choice we can make to be kind. Kind to fellow believers as well as those who are amongst the lost. 1 Samuel 25 we find a familiar story of Nabal and Abigail. As Nabal enjoys the blessings of David being in his territory, when a need arises for David, Nabal chooses not to be kind in his words. David will use this to wreak wrath upon Nabal's house until his wife Abigail uses kindness to defuse the situation with David. Choosing kindness to help mend most things in most situations.
