Hailing from the Brazilian countryside, Sigawd -- aka Eduardo Sigaud -- is a Twitch streamer and content creator. A former Magic: The Gathering tournament player, Sigawd pivoted to chess in the autumn of 2020 after watching the Queen's Gambit miniseries on Netflix and after looking for a new game to play. This episode was unique in that I got an opportunity to talk about chess with someone who is fairly new to the beautiful game we all love. This week, I interviewed Sigawd about his journey in chess and in the streaming world so far. We discuss similarities between chess and other games, how learning chess is like learning a language, and talked about Sigawd's ultimate chess goals (now that the end of the COVID-19 pandemic is in sight). You can find Sigawd streaming on Twitch every Monday, and Brazilian fans of the podcast should watch Sigawd's YouTube videos, which are in Portuguese! Though my voice was wrecked from doing death growls at a death metal concert, I had a blast recording this episode and I really hope to have Sigawd back in a few months to get an update on his improvement!
