What does the red heifer have to do with the restoration of the Temple—and ultimately the coming Kingdom of God?
In this episode, we sit down with Byron Stinson of B’Nai Israel to hear the remarkable story behind the red heifers brought from Texas to Israel and the preparations surrounding the red heifer ceremony.
Byron takes us behind the scenes of what happened in Israel, including the plans for the July 1, 2025 practice ceremony, his work alongside Jewish rabbis, and why the ashes of the red heifer remain so significant for biblical purification.
But the conversation goes much deeper.
We explore the connection between the ashes and the water of purification in Numbers 19, Malachi’s prophecy of the coming purification of the sons of Levi, and the striking imagery of “fuller’s soap” in Malachi 3:
“He will purify the sons of Levi… that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.”
Could the restoration of biblical purification be part of the preparation for something much larger?
Byron also explains why he believes the coming Kingdom of Messiah is not merely a spiritual reality, but a physical Kingdom established on the earth—with resurrection, Jerusalem, the Temple, and Messiah reigning from the place God chose to put His name.
We discuss:
For nearly 2,000 years, many of these commandments could not be carried out.
Now, for the first time in generations, people are actively preparing to restore them.
Is the red heifer simply an ancient biblical ritual—or are we watching the pieces being put into place for the restoration of Temple worship and the coming Kingdom of Messiah?

For nearly 2,000 years, Israel has been without a Temple, altar, and functioning priesthood. And without the ashes of the red heifer described in Numbers 19, purification from contact with the dead—a requirement connected with entering the sanctuary—has remained impossible.
But something remarkable has happened.
Red heifers were raised in Texas and transported to Israel, beginning a story that has captured attention around the world. At the center of that story is Byron Stinson, who has spent years working toward the restoration of the biblical red heifer ceremony.
In this special Sighted Moon collaboration, Ryan Nall and Joseph Dumond sit down with Byron to hear the story firsthand.
Where did the red heifers come from? Why were they brought to Israel? What exactly does Numbers 19 require? Why are the ashes so important? How does the purification of the flesh relate to the sacrifice of Yeshua—and what has already taken place that most of the world knows nothing about?
This is the beginning of our deep dive into one of the most mysterious commandments in the Torah and the extraordinary events surrounding its potential restoration in our generation.

Why was John the Baptist immersing people in the Jordan—and why was immersion necessary to prepare the way for the Messiah?
In this episode of the Sighted Moon Podcast, Ryan Nall and Joseph Dumond step outside the traditional Christian understanding of “baptism” and examine the practice through its Hebrew and Temple context: mikvah, ritual purity, repentance, and preparing to draw near to Yehovah.
John wasn’t introducing an idea disconnected from Israel’s Scriptures and worship. His ministry called Israel to repentance and purification in preparation for the coming Messiah. That raises an important question: What did immersion mean to a first-century Jewish audience?
We explore the relationship between mikvah and repentance, the principle that immersion accomplishes nothing while someone continues clinging to sin, and the connection between ritual purification and approaching the Temple. We also examine the sacrificial system—not simply as a mechanism for dealing with sin, but as part of Israel’s means of drawing near to God.
Then the discussion turns to John’s prophecy concerning two very different immersions: the Holy Spirit and fire. Are both promises of blessing, or does John contrast the purification of the repentant with the judgment awaiting the unrepentant?
Finally, we examine a unique form of purification that ordinary immersion could not accomplish: purification from contact with the dead—and why that subject may have profound implications for understanding biblical prophecy and the last days.
Join us as we trace baptism back through John the Baptist, the mikvah, the Temple, Torah, and the biblical concept of preparing a people to meet their God.
Join us as we dig into Scripture and history and follow the development of these traditions from the biblical period forward.

What exactly is Simchat Torah—and where did it come from?
In this episode, Ryan Nall and Joseph Dumond examine the history behind Simchat Torah and its relationship to Shemini Atzeret, the biblical “Eighth Day” commanded in Leviticus 23.
The Torah commands an eighth-day sacred assembly following the seven days of Sukkot, but the modern celebration of Simchat Torah centers on completing the annual Torah-reading cycle with Deuteronomy and immediately beginning again with Genesis 1:1. How did these traditions become connected?
We trace the discussion from the biblical commands concerning Shemini Atzeret through the destruction of the Second Temple, the development of the Mishnah and later rabbinic tradition, and the emergence of customs associated with Simchat Torah.
Along the way, we also tackle a fascinating calendar question: What does Ezekiel mean when he says his vision occurred “at the beginning of the year” (Ezekiel 40:1)? Does the Hebrew expression Rosh HaShanah prove that Tishri was already regarded as the beginning of the year in Ezekiel’s time—or are later interpretations being read back into the text?
We examine:
• Shemini Atzeret in Leviticus 23
Was Simchat Torah practiced in the days of Yeshua? Is it part of the biblical command for Shemini Atzeret, or is it a later tradition attached to the Eighth Day?
Join us as we dig into Scripture and history and follow the development of these traditions from the biblical period forward.

Why do most Jews today follow a calculated calendar rather than sighting the new crescent moon? And if modern communication allows people around the world to know almost instantly when the moon is sighted in Israel, why is the fixed Hillel calendar still necessary?
In this episode of the Sighted Moon Podcast, Ryan Nall and Joseph Dumond examine the history and authority behind the Jewish calendar, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Teruah, the role of the Sanhedrin, the ancient system of witnesses reporting the new moon, and the postponement rules that can affect when the appointed times are observed.
But the discussion eventually reaches a much deeper question: Who has the authority to determine Yehovah’s appointed times?
Did the judges of Israel have authority merely to evaluate witnesses and declare the month, or did that authority extend to establishing a calculated calendar and postponing holy days? What happened when the Sanhedrin ceased functioning? Was the fixed calendar a necessary solution for Jews scattered throughout the nations—or did it ultimately replace the method established in Scripture?
We also discuss Hillel II, the historical development of the Jewish calendar, the authority later attributed to it, and whether modern believers should continue following that system now that communication with the land of Israel is instantaneous.
And finally, we wrestle with an important question that shouldn’t be ignored: Are those who reject the rabbinic calendar restoring something that was lost—or are they rejecting the authority Yehovah gave Israel’s judges?
Join us as we examine the biblical calendar, Jewish tradition, and the difficult question of authority surrounding Yehovah’s appointed times.
Topics include: Yom Teruah • Rosh Hashanah • Hillel II • Jewish calendar • crescent moon • Sanhedrin • new moon witnesses • postponement rules • Leviticus 23 • biblical feast days • rabbinic authority • appointed times

While much of the Jewish world is preparing for the Feast of Trumpets, we have already completed Sukkot and Shemini Atzeret. So who is early—and who is late?
In this episode, we examine one of the most important questions surrounding the biblical calendar: What actually determines the beginning of the year?
Rather than beginning the year with Tishrei and Rosh Hashanah, Exodus identifies Aviv as the first month. We discuss the barley harvest, the biblical agricultural cycle, the development of Jewish calendar traditions, and why the distinction between the first and seventh months matters.
Then we turn to a fascinating mystery surrounding Shemini Atzeret, Simchat Torah, and John 10:22:
“And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.”
Most readers immediately identify this “Feast of Dedication” with Hanukkah on Kislev 25. But when John 7–10 is examined as a continuous narrative beginning with Sukkot, does that assumption still hold? Could John be describing something connected to the seventh month instead?
We explore:
• Aviv vs. Tishrei as the beginning of the biblical year
The goal isn’t to reject Jewish tradition simply because it is tradition. It’s to test our traditions—Christian and Jewish alike—against Scripture, history, and the agricultural signs Yehovah established.
Is Aviv really the first month? Is the traditional calendar one month late? And have we misunderstood the Feast of Dedication in John 10?
Join us as we dig into the Scriptures and examine the evidence.

The Feast of Sukkot lasts seven days—but then God commands His people to assemble again on the eighth day. Why?
Leviticus 23 and Numbers 29 clearly command an eighth-day solemn assembly, yet unlike many of the biblical appointed times, Scripture does not immediately explain what this day commemorates. So how are we supposed to understand it?
In this episode, Ryan, Joe, and Sombra dig into the mystery of Shemini Atzeret—the Eighth-Day Assembly. We examine the biblical instructions for Sukkot, the distinction between the seven-day Feast of Booths and the eighth day that follows it, and the recurring significance of the “eighth day” throughout Scripture.
Could the eighth day point toward a new beginning? Does it foreshadow what comes after the Messianic Kingdom—the ultimate dwelling of God with His people? And what can Israel’s journey through the wilderness teach us about faith, obedience, trust, and being prepared when God calls His people to move?
We also discuss the biblical calendar, following God’s appointed times, the coming restoration of all things, the ten virgins, Israel’s failure to trust Yehovah in the wilderness, and the danger of becoming so accustomed to God’s provision that we begin to take it for granted.
What exactly is the eighth day—and what is Yehovah trying to teach us through it?
Join us as we search the Scriptures for the meaning behind one of the Bible’s most mysterious appointed assemblies.

What if the biblical Holy Days are more than ancient observances? What if they reveal, step by step, the entire plan of salvation?
In this episode, Ryan Nall and Joseph Dumond explore the prophetic meaning of Sukkot—the Feast of Tabernacles—and why understanding the appointed times can dramatically change the way we understand the Kingdom of God.
Yeshua taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.” The biblical story doesn’t ultimately end with God’s people floating away in heaven—it points toward God dwelling with His people and His Kingdom being established on the earth.
We trace the prophetic pattern through Passover, Shavuot, the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and finally Sukkot. How do these appointed times portray redemption, judgment, resurrection, the wedding feast, and the coming Kingdom? And could the three pilgrimage feasts point toward a deeper pattern involving resurrection?
We also discuss why Sukkot isn’t merely something to study. It’s something to experience—a time to gather, rejoice, eat, fellowship, worship, and learn God’s plan by participating in His appointed time.
From the resurrection of Yeshua to the wedding feast and the Kingdom to come, Sukkot may reveal far more about the future than most believers realize.
In this episode: Sukkot • Feast of Tabernacles • Biblical Holy Days • God’s Kingdom on Earth • Resurrection • Wedding Feast • Passover • Shavuot • Feast of Trumpets • Day of Atonement • Shemini Atzeret • Prophecy • Yeshua

Why would a Christian today care about Sukkot—the biblical Feast of Tabernacles?
In this episode of the Sighted Moon Podcast, Ryan Nall and Joseph Dumond explore one of the most joyful and prophetic feasts found in Scripture. Far from being merely an ancient Jewish tradition, Sukkot is presented in the Bible as a commanded time of rejoicing before Yehovah—a seven-day celebration filled with food, fellowship, remembrance, and prophetic meaning.
We begin in Deuteronomy 14, where Israel is instructed to set aside part of its increase, travel to the place where Yehovah placed His name, and use it to rejoice before Him with their household. It presents a side of biblical worship that many Christians rarely hear about: God actually commands His people to celebrate.
But Sukkot is about much more than having a feast.
We explore its connection to Israel’s deliverance from Egypt and forty years of dwelling in temporary shelters, its imagery of freedom from slavery, and the remarkable parallels between the seven-day feast and the ancient biblical wedding celebration.
Then we turn to the prophetic dimension. What does the Tabernacle of David in Amos 9 have to do with the restoration of Israel? Why were an extraordinary 70 bulls sacrificed during Sukkot in Numbers 29? And what is the ancient Jewish understanding connecting those seventy sacrifices with the seventy nations of the world?
Sukkot begins as a memorial of Israel’s journey through the wilderness—but its message reaches far beyond the wilderness.
Is the Feast of Tabernacles ultimately pointing toward the restoration of Israel, the nations, the Messianic Kingdom, and the great wedding celebration still to come?
Join us as we dig into the Scriptures and uncover why Sukkot may be one of the most joyful—and prophetic—appointments on God’s calendar.

In this episode of the Sightedmoon Podcast, Ryan Nall and Joseph Dumond explore the ancient and prophetic significance of the Ten Days of Awe—the ten days stretching from the Feast of Trumpets to the Day of Atonement.
Why has this period historically been associated with repentance and judgment? What can the biblical fall holy days teach us about the imagery found in Daniel and Revelation? And perhaps most importantly, why should a believer in Yeshua observe Yom Kippur if the Messiah has already made atonement for sin?
Ryan and Joseph examine the themes of judgment, repentance, forgiveness, and atonement found throughout Scripture, connecting Leviticus 16 and 23 with the prophetic imagery of Revelation. They also discuss traditions surrounding the Ten Days of Awe, the symbolism of the number ten, the judgment of Satan, and the importance of understanding Revelation through the framework of the Torah and the biblical holy days.
The conversation ultimately leads to the Messiah himself: What does Yom Kippur reveal about Yeshua, and how does the Day of Atonement fit into the larger prophetic plan of God?
Join us as we examine the biblical foundations behind the Ten Days of Awe and consider why these ancient appointed times may still have profound meaning for followers of Messiah today.
