It was great to sit down with John Collins, Senior Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University’s (NTU) Centre for Broadcasting & Journalism (CBJ), at the end of last year.
As well as Founder, Matt and Marketing Manager, Nicola getting the chance to tour their old stomping ground, we got to record a brilliant chat with John on all thing’s journalism and podcasting.
John shared his insights into the ever-changing landscape of journalism and the growing significance of podcasting and audio content. We discussed the importance of vocational routes in journalism and the Janno Media Award for aspiring podcasters.
We also touch on the impact of the award at NTU and how this year’s recipient Anjy Olosunde is using it as a springboard to great things.
What we did agree on is that whatever the medium… the story is always king!

We first came across Arthur Wharton in a Black History Month edition of our weekly bulletin, ContentED. AMS’ Creative Director, Jason Graham curated five pieces of digital content in this special guest issue, leading us to the eye-opening "Remembering Arthur Wharton, Number 1" video on YouTube.
Arthur was the world's first black professional footballer and official fastest man on Earth! A pioneer and trailblazer in sporting history. A fact which hasn’t always been acknowledged.

To mark the release of their 100th episode, the Decarb Connect founder Alex Cameron talks to us about the origins story of the Decarb Connect podcast, and what she's learnt from doing it.
In 2020, when everyone was shut in, the podcast was a necessary means of platforming her brand spanking new business venture. Over time it has taken on a life on it's own and become a traceable history of the Decarbonisation landscape, giving Alex a front row seat in conversations which have influenced her direction of travel.
You can listen to the 100th episode of Decarb Connect here.

One of the longest running podcast series we produce, is 'Property Patter' for Charles Russell Speechlys. A podcast delivered by their Real Estate Disputes team which covers the nitty gritty of (what sounds to us like) an ever changing, and adaptive area of the law.
Sassy talks to to Emma Humphreys, (Partner at Charles Russell Speechlys) about the effectiveness of podcasts over more traditional means of relaying information and ideas within the legal sector, and the versatility of conversations between departments offering their expertise on various aspects of Real Estate.
