    The Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the theme for the 45th annual Prescott Valley Days is “Never Ending Neon, life is colorful!” The winning theme was submitted by Adrienne McComack-Reynolds who will receive a 0 gift certificate to a local restaurant and will ride in the parade on May 13, 2023.     MATFORCE and area law enforcement agencies throughout Yavapai County encourage you to bring unwanted medication to Dump the Drugs on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 10:00 am-2:00 pm. This event is being held in partnership with the DEA's National Take Back Day with medication disposal locations set up around the county including Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Prescott, Chino Valley, and Prescott Valley. Since 2008 almost 41,000 pounds of medication have been collected and properly disposed of through Dump the Drugs events and drop box locations throughout Yavapai County.   • Pile Burn Planned in Prescott Basin on Bradshaw Ranger District

    Fire managers on the Bradshaw Ranger District plan to take advantage of the moisture received and predicted to burn debris piles in the Prescott Basin. Ignitions are planned to start Tuesday, March 21, 2023, and continue through Friday, March 31, 2023, as favorable weather conditions allow. Fire managers expect smoke impacts to be light and visible from multiple locations including Prescott, Williamson Valley, Chino Valley, and surrounding areas. Pile burning helps to reduce hazardous fuels in the wildland-urban interface and increases ecosystem and community resilience.   • Prescott to Perform Controlled Release of Two City Dams

    With high lake levels, and impending storms, the City of Prescott will perform a controlled release of water from both Willow Creek Dam (Willow Lake) and Granite Creek Dam (Watson Lake). This release will continue until after the approaching storm events have subsided to keep the lakes at safe levels. Please be aware that strong currents will exist near the dam and spillways at each lake. Also, Granite Creek, Willow Creek, and other local tributaries will be flowing at higher than normal levels.     The Bradshaw Mountian Bears baseball team had a big day offensively in support of Josh Khazaal’s excellent performance on the mound in a 10-0 win over the St. Mary’s Knights in Prescott Valley on Saturday afternoon.     On Wednesday, March 8th, 2023, officers from the Prescott Police Department, Prescott Valley Police Department, Arizona Department of Public Safety, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, and the Chino Valley Police Department conducted a speed enforcement detail from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. focusing on Willow Creek Road, Pioneer Parkway, Williamson Valley Road, and State Route 89. Officers from the above agencies stopped 116 vehicles which resulted in: 70 citations for speeding 30 citations for other various violations 4 criminal citations for excessive speed 30 warnings The most egregious speeds included 80mph in a 45mph zone and multiple 70mph in 45mph zones....
