56 brave men signed the Declaration of Independence. Not all voted for it, and not all who voted for it signed it. Each of the signers was remarkable in his own way. This episode explores the lives of 14 of the signers: John Hancock, Button Gwinett, Lyman Hall, George Walton, William Hooper, Joseph Hewes, John Penn, Edward Rutledge, Thomas Hayward Jr, Thomas Lynch Jr, Arthur Middleton, Samuel Chase, William Paca, and Thomas Stone. Also learn how and why the first sentence of the Declaration was changed after July 4th, and how it was printed and signed.
