India Oxenburg was a member of NXIVM, a cult hiding behind the facade of personal development courses and community. Her story is one of humility, strength, and resilience. In this episode, I get pretty candid about my experience in yoga teacher training with a leader who I felt was on the road to being a cult leader (but not very good at it, thankfully), India recognized several parallels to the language and manipulation that was used in NXIVM. While India's story is extreme, mine is likely not too uncommon in the wellness industry. In this episode, we point out scenarios that aren't quite right, and what to look out for when considering getting involved in any wellness organization.
