The cinematography of Sikh history has been a contentious issue, with significant opposition from the Sikh community, particularly concerning the portrayal of Sikh Gurus, Sahibzadas, GurSikhs, and Shaheeds in films. Sikh Jatha Malwa has been actively engaging in this debate both intellectually and on the ground.
Recently, Sikh Jatha Malwa addressed the issue by writing a letter to approximately 150 individuals involved in the film industry, outlining the reasons why the direct portrayal of Sikh history in films is problematic. To further explore this issue, Sikh Siyasat interviewed Bhai Malkeet Singh Bhawanigarh, a youth author and a sewadar of Sikh Jatha Malwa.

On 17 August 2024, a Panthic seminar took place at Gurdwara Sahib Guru Tegh Bahadur in Leicester, UK, with the attendance of many distinguished personalities. During the event, Bhai Mandhir Singh (Panth Sevak Jatha, Doaba) addressed the congregation, sharing his insights on the challenges faced by Sikh vote politics in Punjab. He elaborated on the decline of Sikh vote politics due to changing circumstances, the transformation in leadership, the significance of Morchas, and the shifting focus of the movement. He also highlighted the concern that Sikhs are drifting away from their Panthik traditions, adopting westernized methods for selecting their leaders and shaping their future.
