For most of us, nowadays’ lifestyle is pretty much different from what it was several generations ago. There are new inventions, there is new technology, new life-styles.

Yet, some things do not change.

It is amazing how much we can learn from history and past generations.

... and who cares for me?

Have you been asking this question repeatedly?

Many of us easily have an attitude of expecting others to take care of us.

As tough as it may sound, we are primarily called to do, what we can do.

Yet, there is also good news of comfort.

Whom would you like to join? What group of people?

Would you like to join the celebrities?

Or the rich? The millionaires and billionaires?

Or the sport stars? Those who have extraordinary gifts?

It appears so attractive to be among such kinds of groups of people.

Eventually it will turn out to be most attractive to be among the group of people with another common feature.

Have you ever been in situations, where you had to cry for help?

All of us may have been in that situation as newborns and babies.

Praise the Lord, if you have not been in a situation as a grown-up in which you needed to cry for help.

Whether there are such difficult days in your life or not, in any case involve the Lord.

He listens. He knows what we ask for.

He also knows what is best for us. As good parents do not fulfil every wish of the child, because as parents they have a longer-term view of what is good for the child, in the same way God will give us what is really good for us. Yet, God always listens, also to our crying.

Where is God?

Far away in space? – That is what many people assume “a higher being”.

But in fact God is not far away.

He is as close to us as the air that surrounds us, even closer.

He is everywhere and as close to everybody as a simple prayer.

Hardly anyone strives to be pure in heart.

There are so many other interests and things to do, that take priority in life.

Which are yours?

On what do you rely?

In the major questions of life, or if challenges come up, on what do you rely?

On yourself, your abilities, your strength, your knowledge?

Or on others, on family, friends, the government, other safety nets?

For what do we labour all day?

Why do we get up early and work hard the whole all day?

No time to take care of hobbies and health?

Yet, by right it would be much worse.

The truth – what comes to your mind?

We may think of not lying.

But “the truth” is much more than that.

Who serves whom?

The lower ranking needs to serve the higher ranking. It is clear. Is it really always like that?
