The founder of With Wine, Richard Owens, certainly didn't feel that way 5 years ago when he started drinking wine so he set out to do something about it and shake up this very traditional industry.
WithWine is a SaaS platform that empowers wine vendors to connect with their customers through a seamless and modern interface the WithWine app. Along with the initial benefits the app provides for users where you can Follow your friends' to see the wines that they Like the platform allows vendors to market their most relevant products to their most relevant customers.

Wine is subjective so the way it is sold should be subjective too… after all, no one enjoys being on the end of one-size-fits-all marketing campaigns.
As of September 2016, the WithWine app is available for download on the Apple App Store. The company is releasing a version for Android in the coming weeks along with a few major updates that will see this huge industry, propelled into the 21st century.
More information for wine vendors can be found at http://www.withwine.com/

She established the second matching service in Australia after reading a newspaper article about business angels investing time and money to assist growing businesses achieve their potential. Christine believes her success is due to her focus on matching people's values and skills ahead of the money, and that her experience in recruitment has been of great benefit in helping her achieve this. She is described as a profiler. Her understanding of behaviour and what makes relationships work helps her encourage people to tap into their own core values rather than fit into someone else's expectations. Business Angels Pty Ltd has matched thousands of investors and businesses. It has helped to form a great variety of partnerships, with some angels investing time and money, and others providing mentoring and networking. Christine has written a comprehensive and practical guide to the process, "Private Capital for Private Companies" for those contemplating finding an angel investor or investing in a business. Her vision for the future often challenges the present in many uncomfortable ways. The underlying philosophy for all that Christine does is about collaborating rather than competing - open source relationships. She recognises that true networking needs to be much smarter and for this reason she has set up a new matching service called Crowd Entrepreneurs. Crowdsourcing is certainly one key to a future where the most valuable thing is people and their relationships with each other. www.businessangels.com.au Silicon Beach Radio Sponsors http://www.antstand.com/partner-eatt-magazine/

Launceston now has a Beach, Launceston Silicon Beach. 10th Sept 2016 saw the birth of Australia's newest Silicon Beach community - in Launceston, Tasmania. We will work with Cowork Launceston and Startup Tasmania to promote Tasmania as one of the best places in the world to run a startup. The state offers super-fast NBN, clean air, healthy lifestyle, mild weather and low-cost housing to name a few of the attractions. Silicon Beach Radio is backed by the support of EATT Magazine podcast.
EATT Magazine has recently released a series of interactive videos https://eattmag.com/15-video-how-to-send-us-your-english-lesson-questions-and-answers/ where beginners in English can send English lesson questions and answers online.
With a strong focus on Food & AgriTech along with clean energy, the island state is educating the future knowledge workers and entrepreneurs. Primary school children are learning robotics and Illuminate Education (working out of Cowork Launceston) is running entrepreneurship programs for secondary students. Tasmania will make an ideal testing ground for startups wanting to test their ideas prior to launch.
We are on course to connect Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat and the other Silicon Beaches around Australia as one network to create a truly powerful startup community - Silicon Beach Australia.
Visit Silicon Beach TV channel for more live streams from our trip - it wasn't all work ;) Keep an ear out for Cullen's interview with Athula on SB Radio (will be online soon).
Why not take a flight down to Launceston (starting at $49 from Jetstar) and have a few days coworkation at Cowork Launceston? They are on NBN with 100 Mbps down and 40 Mbps up, you'll love the speed. Mention Silicon Beach for a special discount on coworking. We recommend Airbnb for accommodation and don't forget to check out the Cataract Gorge and take a ride on the chairlift just half an hour walk from the CBD.
Thanks to our sponsors TCF Services, Ash Mayura's Scaling Lean and Catherine Moolenschot's Inspire Greatness. Without them, LSB would not have been possible.
A Walk in Two Worlds
A book by Ghina Makari Cane
My whole life I wanted to be normal. For the seven-year-old daughter of immigrants that meant having a name like
Jane, blue eyes, silky blonde hair and pale white skin. Not hairy arms, fuzzy dark hair, brown eyes, bushy eyebrows and a name no one could pronounce.
EATT Magazine one of our key supporters here at Silicon Beach Radio has recently released an Online English Course in a series of videos https://eattmag.com/podcasts/for early English language learners.
A Walk in Two Worlds is a book about my journey. First through the eyes of a child that came to a new world for a better life. A world where she didn't know her place and didn't feel she belonged. She looked differed, ate differently and was different. The journey continues through the eyes of a teenager contending with two cultures but belonging to none. As an adult she travels the world to find herself and learns that we are not our parents, we are not our heritage and we are not our country. We are our own perfect fusion of them all. We are designers of our own cultural identity.
I have met many people that live with angst, guilt and confusion. Lost between two cultures, two religions or two races. Feeling torn like they are being pulled in different directions. Trying to please their family, community and society. Trying to be everything everyone wants them to be. Juggling two worlds, two rule books and two ways of life but never feeling like they truly belonged to any. This book is for them. I want them to know that they are not alone and that they no longer need to feel lost.
Through better understanding comes acceptance. I hope that through sharing my story it will help others with theirs. I want to empower them to design and define their cultural identity.
Throughout the book I will share the stories and reflections of others, from all walks of life and different nationalities, races and cultures. I'll also inject the wisdom of philosophers and inspirational writers that have touched me.
This is my first book. I have always wanted to be a writer but never knew what to write about; until this book came to me. I have spoken to so many that need it, there are hundreds of thousands of children lost between two worlds. I hope to be able to help them.
So I invite them to walk with me through the love, tears and laughter. To grow with me toward self-acceptance and understanding. To arrive with me to a place where they confidently and proudly walk in two worlds, knowing that they are defined by none.
If you would like to stay in touch to hear about the progress of the book, you can follow me on Twitter and Facebook

Welcome to our Silicon beach Event https://eattmag.com/silicon-beach-radio/
Our first Silicon Event will be a book writing workshop by Silicon Beacher Catherine Moolenschot. Catherine pitched at our June MSB Drinks. We were so impressed by her work that we invited her to kick off the SiliconEvent series.
A new podcast also backs silicon Beach Radio Learn English with Cullen created to improve English speaking
Do you have a book lurking inside that you know you need to write, but don't know where or how to start?
Books can be anything from a great part of the marketing strategy for your startup, to a personal journey that shares your wisdom and experiences through a memoir.
At this session, Catherine will take you through her Unpacking Your Book process, where you will learn: Important exercises to do before you type the first word
How to make your book UNIQUE so people will buy it
How to create your Writing Roadmap so you know what to write when Catherine Moolenschot wrote her first book "A Rough Road" at 13 and has been writing ever since. 3-4 years later, Her love for learning and personal development lead her to provide advanced training in speaking, facilitation, business, marketing, and communication alongside completing High School.
At 17 she wrote her second book 'Failure Is Underrated', and gave her first TEDx talk 'Living Your Funnel of Greatness'. She was then asked to speak in schools across Australia, so launched her business Inspire Greatness. She has spoken in Australia, England, and South Africa. At 20, she wrote her third book - a novel inspired by the teenagers she was working with in schools.
Today Catherine coaches individuals through the process of writing their own book; she helps from beginning to the end, starting with unpacking their book to being their chief editor.
