Starring Julia Roberts, Hugh Grant and a great supporting cast of British actors. Written and directed by Roger Michell and written by Richard Curtis, who also wrote Four Weddings and a Funeral and Love Actually. It definitely has a British feel. Tonight the YKY gang enter the Arthurian Legend with the film The Green Knight. Directed with a stylish flair by David Lowery and starring Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sean Harris and as the Green Knight Ralph Ineson. Does the film, based on a 14th century poem, translate to a current audience, that is part of our discussion. Me, I think I prefer Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Run away! Run Away!

On the latest episode of YKY, a film class staple. 1955's Bad day at Black Rock. Directed by John Sturges and starring Spencer Tracy, Robert Ryan and an all-star supporting cast. It's a tension filled mystery that ends with a fiery conclusion. This was John's pick so you can bet Ralph will have lots to say about it. If you have never seen this film it may be one you want to check out. Film class is now open.

On the latest episode of YKY we discuss the film noir classic The Maltese Flacon. Directorial debut of John Houston and in.a career defining role, Humphrey Bogart as Sam Spade. This is a film that changed the "Detective movies" and influences current films. Pay attention to the fantastic supporting cast who play off of Bogart beautifully. This is a film...that dreams are made of.

Tonight on YKY, Chris imports a film from Hong Kong, 1994's Chungking Express. This film was distributed in the US as the result of Quentin Tarantino who fell in love with it. On the latest episode of YKY we discuss 1980's film The 9th Configuration. Directed by the Exorcist author William Peter Blatty. It is an interesting film that is tough to describe. Is it a Marx Brothers comedy, a dark look into mental illness of Viet Nam vets, or is it a jumble of disconnected scenes. We'll let you decide. Lots of familiar faces in the cast led by Stacy Keach, Ed Flanders and Walking Dead actor Scott Wilson. If you have seen this film let us know your thoughts. If you have not seen it, let me know if you want to after our discussion. PS: Stay out of Biker Bars like the one in this film.

This is a very special episode of YKY. Joining the gang tonight is Gary Goldstein. A fan of the show who wanted wanted to get on our podcast who also happens to be an LA Times movie critic. On top of that he worked on the marketing on a film we discussed in a previous episode: Streets of Fire. So we have a great discussion about that and his choice 1976's classic...Taxi Driver. Starring Robert DeNiro in his first role after Godfather II, Cybil Shepard, Albert Brooks, Peter Boyle, Harvey Keitel and a 14 year old Jodie Foster. A gritty and grimy 70's film that is a tough watch . Interesting takes all around. Let us know what you think. You....talking to me...I'm the only one typing here.

This latest episode of YKY is another round robin, this time it's films we watch that are "guilty pleasures". Now that term has many different meanings and that becomes a big part of our discussion. Let us know if you agree and if you have a "guilty pleasure" of your own.
