Batffleck may be riding the wave of popularity now, but almost 20 years ago Ben Affleck had such a bad response to a superhero role he swore he’d never don tights again. That’s right, for this episode Ray and Ocean are joined by Kyle Olsen of Marvel Movie Minute to discuss the red-headed stepchild of the Fox/Marvel movie-verse: Daredevil! Does the Director’s Cut make much of a difference? Should we demand #TheOceanCut? Can there possibly be anything redeeming about this movie? For answers to these questions and more, tune in!

Ocean introduces Ray to one of 2010’s worst flops: Repo Men. Our hosts cannot believe the critic scores for this one! How can it be? Join them on this episode as they work to destroy claims that this movie is “too gory” and has a “wasted premise.” It’s time to expose the silver lining on this one!

Can classic monsters be resurrected? Is this movie more spectacle than substance? Are horror remakes always doomed to fail? Ocean and Ray try to answer these questions, while also talking about aspects of The Wolfman that some wouldn’t stop to think about. A realistic examination of families with scarred pasts? Check. Breaking the traditional monster movie formula? Check. Why YOU should consider/re-consider watching this movie? Double check! Load up your silver bullets, or bring your favorite silver-handled cane as we take a look at Joe Johnston’s misunderstood 2010 remake The Wolfman.

Ahhh ‘Brightburn’ ... who would have thought that a film penned by the Gunn brothers would end up a film worthy of the Silver Linings treatment? This was supposed to be an absolute slam dunk of a super-horror-fest! Our experience with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ set us up right proper for the initial run of this movie. Reviews were deeply mixed, but many of them said the premise was full of potential that ultimately didn’t deliver. It’s time to find some silver linings.

The rules are really beginning to annoy us. We stand with Snake. Anyone want to join us for a trip to the island of Los Angeles for a game of "Bangkok Rules"? Welcome to episode one of Silver Linings from The Next Reel family of Film Podcasts.
Just what is Silver Linings? Have you ever liked — maybe even loved — a movie that everyone else seems to hate? You're not alone! We look at movies that are often panned to see if their hate is warranted. Sure, we'll talk about what might be broken, but more important: we talk about what really works in these films with the hope that we change some minds along the way... maybe even yours. So sit back, relax, and let's take the guilt out of guilty pleasures.
