Continuing Nicolas Cage month, Joel and Andy watch National Treasure: Book of Secrets, a film where Benjamin Franklin Gates must kidnap the President and find a city of gold in order to clear his ancestor's name. The plot is as ridiculous as it sounds.

For the month of September, Joel and Andy are watching films starring the one and only Nicolas Cage, starting with USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage, the 2016 film directed by Mario Van Peebles.

Joel and Andy find a silver lining in Son of Godzilla, the 1967 Japanese kaiju film that sees Godzilla forgo smashing tall buildings in order to focus on raising his son, Minilla, who has a knack for getting into life-threatening situations.

Joel and Andy watch the 1983 Roger Moore James Bond film Octopussy, which for some reason climaxes with Bond wearing full clown makeup to save the titular Octopussy from being blown up during a circus act.

Continuing with SLP's unnecessary sequels month, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot sees the titular heroes once again traveling to Hollywood to stop a Bluntman and Chronic film. Together, Joel and Andy find its silver lining.

Joel and Andy watch A Good Day to Die Hard, the fifth installment in the Die Hard franchise. The film sees John McClane traveling to Russia to help his spy son Jack. It's an utterly underwhelming and ridiculous addition to the Die Hard canon, but together they will find its silver lining.

For the month of August, Joel and Andy are going deep on unnecessary movie sequels, starting with Jaws: The Revenge. In this film, sharks are vindictive murderers and there's a Great White stalking the Brody family all the way to the Bahamas.

They end the month with the 2019 Hellboy reboot. The film is bogged down by a muddled script and poor CGI and make up effects.

1997 was an odd year for comic book movies. In addition to Batman & Robin, '97 gave us Steel, a film starring Shaquille O'Neal as John Henry Irons, a man who builds himself a metal suit to fight crime with the help of his disabled partner Sparks. Joel and Andy revisit the film to find its silver lining.

As much as it now seems like the MCU can't miss, the early days were a bit more rocky. Perhaps the rockiest film of all is Thor: The Dark World, the lackluster Phase 2 sequel to Thor.
