Narrator ruins the story!
This story wasn't bad, but the narrator was simply awful! She read way too fast, and there was no distinctions in voice tone or inflection between any of the characters. It was like listening to a 13-year-old girl prattle on and on about her day at Jr. High without taking a breath. It's unfortunate, because a poor narrator choice ruined an otherwise decent story.
Sweet but flawed
It's always enjoyable to have a romance novelist as the main character in a story. Otto offers detailed descriptions of the town, the characters, and Monica's past. Luckett's narration of this story rendered it useless as a romance novel. All of the aforementioned details were lost due to Luckett's fast paced reading. Romances should be read at a slower pace leading the characters through their "courtship" and not through a foot race. If Otto uses this narrator again, I won't purchase the audio version.
