Jesus is Himself the bread of life. It's not something He gives as a reward, He brings it as Himself.

Exodus 32:7-14; 1 Timothy 1:12-17; Luke 15:1-10.

God's mercy and justice run through the Old and New Testaments. By wrestling with these readings, we see how Jesus is the new Moses, standing in the breach to bring us into relationship with God even though we could never meet His standards of holiness.

God is not a local god of a land, but the living God of His people. His gift of land comes with rules, because behaviour matters for God, and this includes protection of the weak and vulnerable. God's land is given for righteousness. We need to think about how to live on God's earth in the light of this.

Christian leadership, and all Christian discipleship, is about patterning ourselves on Jesus, and on Jesus on the Cross.

Jeremiah 33:14-18; 31:31-34. Luke 12:32-40. Jesus comes as Rescuer: as perfect king, perfect priest, perfect covenant partner and perfect servant. God has done it all..

Jeremiah 32:1-3a, 6-15. Luke 12:13-21. "God's economy for God's future". We can have hope even in desperate times, because of our hope in God's future.

20.7.2025. Jeremiah 36:1-8, 21-23, 27-31. John 8:31-36. The Word of the Lord is resilient. It is patient. And it is life. God wants to set us all free by His liberating word.
