There is a Halacha that one should bathe and have a haircut before Rosh Hashana because we're confident in the outcome. However, the Gemara tells us that we don't say Hallel on Rosh Hashana due to its severity. So what is it? It seems like a contradiction?!?!?

Sleep and death are related not just because we're not (totally) here. It could also be because a person can't be told to do either of them by someone else.
