Simple Prayers Podcast

I have a fun fact about me (that's also a little silly) – I love to name everything. In particular, I love to name houses. We have a short-term rental in small town Texas that I affectionately call The Franklin (more specifically, 'Frankie').

I love Frankie and I want him to be a blessing to the people who stay there – so I pray for the house as well as for our guests.

What if we prayed for our homes the way we pray for the people dear to us? What if we asked God to let our homes be a showcase for His grace and love?

In today's episode, I wrote to prayer for our our homes based on Colossians 3:15. It says, Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.

God will put his angels in charge of you to protect you wherever you go. Psalm 91:11

That verse turned into a prayer for me. And it's a prayer I would pray over myself, my husband Will, and our kids throughout our lives (but maybe a little extra when the kids were learning to drive!).

I hope that it brings you security and peace – knowing God will put his angels all around you and the ones you love! Listen in and pray with me.

Dear God, give me success today.

I just love that. It's short, it's straightforward— and it's honest! Who doesn't want to have productive, successful days? But I'm curious if you knew that it's actually a prayer right out of the bible. A prayer for success? Yep. Listen in and hear how you can ask God for success too.

Hello, hello, hello! I am over the moon to welcome you to the Simple Prayers Podcast with me, Susie Davis!

Prayer is conversation with God. And that conversation doesn't need to be formal or complicated or "perfect" by any means. Prayer should be natural. Easy. Joyful. Even fun! Because it's fun to talk to someone you love.

Prayer is you and God talking about the things that matter most to you. In the Simple Prayers Podcast, I want to encourage you to talk to God – daily, hourly, always. Because simple prayers can change your life.

In the first ever episode, I'm sharing a simple prayer that I've been praying over my life for decades. The really amazing thing is that it's a prayer to ask God to follow what Jesus calls the greatest commandment. Since Jesus said it's a big deal, I wanted to get my life in line with it. So I turned it into my heartfelt prayer. Maybe you'd like to pray this one too?

Dear God. Help me to love you. Help me to love others. Help me to love myself. Amen.
