This episode was supposed to be with an ex-friend that once again let me down by only giving me under fifteen minutes of her valuable time to do the podcast so instead of giving her any credit we put the interview toward the end of the show. So stepping up to do the show is Schizo Surfer & Vince Freeman who joins me in a conversation about the great film director, Stanley Kubrick’s films and Schizo brings in an interview that he did when he was seven years old with Beatle, John Lennon.
With a couple of nice gigs in the next month Don brings on all of the members of his band, The Barris/Kennedy + Overdrive to promote those gigs but things get off to a rocky start with Earl Kennedy telling everyone that his has to leave early for a comedy show. If you don’t know by now, BKO is Don Barris – singer, Mary Jane – bass, Jayson Thibault Van Halen – guitar & Big Earl Kennedy – drums, a band that some have called the greatest Rock N’ Roll band to ever come out of The Comedy Store.
For the first time in the history of Simply Don – The Podcast, we bring on two guest that are ACTUALLY promoting something as Jeff Richards comes on to promote his album, “The Shingles, 2009 – 2014 & Paul Morrissey comes on to promote his upcoming David Letterman appearance. There is also talk with Jeff about his days on SNL & love making abilities while Paul brings up his all-state high school and college basketball days.
In the Ding-Dong Show a new problem has happened involving The Armenian Comedian and Rucka Rucka Ali with their ongoing dispute over the value of the Armenian people that was brought to a head on this episode with Don trying to mediate. All and all it was a real bad day for Rucka Rucka Ali because not only did he get suspended for a week from performing on The Ding-Dong Show for a week but he also lost a spokesman position for Wetzel Pretzels.
