Publisher's Summary:

The Tale of the Pie and the Patty-Pan, a Beatrix Potter classic, beautifully voiced by the British classical composer Peter Dyson.

In Sawrey, a village only animals inhabit, problems arise when Ribby the cat invites Duchess the dog to tea....

Yet another wonderful and captivating tale from Potter's renowned collection.

Members Reviews:

A literary classic, even without pictures

While I would have enjoyed this more with the original Beatrix Potter paintings, the story is just fine on its own. Its got this not-quite-subtle racial backstory to it which is a lot more apparent when you see the children's book with accompanying paintings. Love the story. I can understand why Duchess wouldn't like mouse, no matter how finely minced it is.

Five Stars

Love Beatrix Potter and there are so many lovely books that you just can't find in the stores

Not what it states it should be...

The book arrived with plain text that looked like it was printed on an ink jet printer, but faint There were no illustrations and many blank pages. Buyers Beware!

the favorite around here

if you ever want to hear your 3yo walking around dramatically saying 'a little dog indeed, as if there were no cats in Sawry! And pie for afternoon tea - the very idea!' then this book is for you. I don't think she understands what's REALLY happening in this book, but she clearly loves it as both of us can pretty much quote the entire thing based on the sheer number of times I've been requested to read it!

Potter, none better.

Potter is classic and should remain so. She never treats children or the adults who read to them , as anything but intelligent human beings.

So grammar and a few things might have changed with time. That becomes the reader's chance to become creative.

Son loves this book. I will be buying more in the series. He can read it by himself with just a little help.

Heroes of the Bible Treasury- I Loved It!

Here is another great 6 in 1 Bible book from The Adventure Bible Series. Heroes of the Bible Treasury!

We love these books! Here are the stories you will find in Heroes of the Bible Book:

Noahâs Voyage

Joseph the Dreamer

Moses Leads the People

Elijah, Godâs Mighty Prophet

Brave Queen Esther

Paul Meets Jesus

Stories are based on the Adventure Bible with colorful illustrations on every page. An easy reader for those wanting to read beginner chapter books. Has 192 pages and also part of the I Can Read! Level 2 Series. There are stories from the Old and New Testament. At the end of each story there is a mini bio and verses. One thing I noticed is the stories are fun to read. My daughter looks at pictures and of course has read the stories over and over again. Itâs a very simple and fun way to teach littleâs about our Bible Heroes that we have heard so much about. We own quite a few of these books and I could never be happier with all of them!

An excellent collection of stories for your emerging reader

Bringing together six engaging stories into one excellent collection, "Heroes of the Bible Treasury" is a valuable addition to the "I Can Read" series of books. From the story of Queen Esther to Joseph, to Noah to Elijah, to Moses and Paul, there is something here for everyone. Each story is written at level 2 of the I Can Read stage of reading, and so introduces longer sentences and language play for your young reader. Each story begins with a pertinent verse and ends with a character snapshot of the main character of the story along with a "Did you Know?" section providing more information about Bible times. The stories are based on the "Adventure Bible" text and do an excellent job at bringing each story to vivid life.

My son, who just finished grade 1, was able to read through each story with minimal assistance, and he loved pouring over the colourful pictures that simply exploded with action! Probably his favourite story in the collection was the one of Moses leading the people out of Egypt after the plagues descend on the country. However, he really did enjoy each and every addition in this book, because while I've had to do a lot of convincing to get him to read other books, I had no problem getting him to sit down and read each of these as he enjoyed the stories so much. Each story is full of adventure, and showcases God's amazing power to act on behalf of his people. I am confident that we will be reading through this collection again and again as time goes on. As a parent, I love the great value you get in this book, as the book is sturdy and well put together, and because there are 6 stories you feel like you are definitely getting what you paid for.
