    Publisher's Summary:
This second manuscript comes to you from the same author who brought you The Light Against the Darkness. It takes a look at the newfound aggressiveness in modern atheism which seeks to attack, suppress, and ultimately destroy people's faith in God. Sadly, the errors, falsehoods, and godlessness being promoted by this mindset directly threaten the salvation of souls.

This book is for anyone and everyone who occasionally struggles in their faith, not just atheists and agnostics...
This book is a useful tool for helping atheists find their way out of the darkness and back to Jesus Christ who is the Light of the World. It is also a useful teaching document for anyone who occasionally finds themselves faltering in their faith. It offers wisdom and much food for thought to the reader, regardless of where they might be in their journey of faith. I highly recommend this work to anyone who has friends or family members that have been caught up in the darkness of the lie that is called atheism.

Title: Icons as Resistance: Challenging the New Iconoclasm in the Catholic Church
    Author: Marcelle Bartolo-Abela
    Narrator: William Reese
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 52 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 12-21-17
    Publisher: Hope & Life Press
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
The Western Catholic Church is fast losing her centuries-old sense of the uncreated beauty of God, as manifested through the created beauty of sacred art, by buying into postmodern minimalism for the adornment of new churches. This loss is occurring despite the Church's longstanding tradition as Patroness of the Arts and the 1999 call of Saint John Paul II for the urgent need to return to "epiphanies of beauty" in Catholic churches worldwide.
In the meantime, icons and iconographic frescos that populate Orthodox churches remain much sought after by believers and non-believers alike for their timeless beauty and inescapable sense of the transcendent. Will the People of God be able to resist the new iconoclasm characterized by facelessness in the Western Catholic Church through the triumphant and hidden power of icons?
Icons as Resistance: Challenging the New Iconoclasm in the Catholic Church documents a series of engaging conversations about the role that icons have in the Church at large and the role they can play at present in the Roman Catholic Church itself. These conversations were held between the author and a group of traditional Catholics earlier this year.

    Author: Jo Amdahl

    Format: Unabridged
Length: 16 hrs and 37 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 12-20-17
    Publisher: Shoshone Publications
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
William Newell once wrote, "If the keys of the Bible, up to the book of Psalms, hang on Moses' books, those of the rest of the Bible, through Revelation, hang on Daniel; and indeed very many of the prophetic Psalms fail to open to us till we see their solution in the wonderful visions of the faithful seer of the captivity."
Empire of Gold sprang from a series of Bible studies on Daniel. The information collated and compiled herein opens to us the biblical books of this crucial time in history. Empire of Gold is a series of historical novels set in the time of a pantheon of biblical and historical greats. Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Josiah, and Nebuchadnezzar live again as Empire expounds their deeds and the chaos of their world.
Empire of Gold: Foundations tells the story that leads up to the world war that changed everything.

    A Great Read!
Empire of Gold is the prologue to an upcoming trilogy on the life and times of the Old Testament prophet Jeremiah. It was fascinating! I love historical novels â although thatâs probably not the correct term â the only thing ânovel-ishâ about the book is that there are conversations and descriptions, making it so much more readable than Biblical passages. The majority of the characters are real, the stories are true (and where there is conflict in historical resources, the author has put forth facts to support her choices), and the action is exciting!
I found Empire of Gold to be captivating AND informative AND a page-turner. Canât ask much more than that. It was my own inclination to get distracted by the footnotes and appendices â which are excellent, by the way. If Iâd allowed myself to just read on through at speed, the book is engaging enough to keep one going. But I tend to be footnote-obsessed; others will easily skip that step.
I bought this e-book myself, but I am acquainted with the author. My opinions are my own honest assessment. Foundations does exactly what it promises â gives you a good foundation of understanding of the era and places and politics of ancient Babylon and Jerusalem and more â Iâm actually anxious to read the next books.
    Five Stars
Great book.....loved it and will read the rest of these books!
    Political associations in founding empires
With conflicts prevalent in the Middle East (Syria, Iraq, Israel) a very interesting look at the rise of the Babylonian Empire thousands of years ago that highlight the political associations that arise when powerful leaders look to allies to build their empires. Jo has written a great Foundation. I'm looking forward to the next book.
    The Prophet Jeremiah's Early Life
The story opens when Jeremiah, an unruly twelve-year-old, invades the stall of an idol seller. He destroys some of the idols and calls on the people to return to the worship of the one true God and not put their faith in idols.
Josiah, the king of Judea, knows Jeremiah well because he is often involved in escapades that call the Jews to worship the true God, but start riots that cause Jeremiah to be brought before the king.
Although this book is categorized as a novel, it is much more of a history of the time of Nebuchadnezzar when Egypt, Assyria, and Babylon were powers in the Middle East. The history is well researched and there are numerous footnotes. As a history, it is well done.
As a novel, the book leaves much to be desired.

Title: Deification of Man in Christianity
    Author: Marcelle Bartolo-Abela

    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 42 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 12-14-17
    Publisher: Hope & Life Press
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
Deification is the transformation of man into god through the grace of God. Predominant in the theology of eastern Christianity, but marginalized and obscured in contemporary interpretations of the theology of western Christianity, deification, not just salvation, as Marcelle Bartolo-Abela explores, is what was and remains the intent of God for mankind, with deification occurring not solely in patria, but in via in patria. This is an understanding of deification which has been largely lost and needs to be recovered in the western Church.
Examining the works of the Church Fathers on both sides of the East-West divide in Christianity, Bartolo-Abela shows that rather than being restricted to the East, deification was featured consistently in many theological works popular in the West, with the most prominent being those of Aquinas, Augustine, Hilary of Poitiers, Irenaeus, and Jerome. Bartolo-Abela argues that it was deification, not just salvation as commonly understood, that was also inherently referred to by Paul VI in the universal call to holiness found in Lumen Gentium, the Dogmatic Constitution on the Church.
Deification is the process of man becoming god and attaining theoria, seeing God, after purification of the heart and illumination of the heart of the soul have ensued through baptism in the Holy Spirit, as understood throughout tradition. Deification from this life, not solely the next, is the desire of God for mankind in accord with the words of Christ and Peter, "I said you are gods" (Jn 10:34) and "partakers of the divine nature" (2 P 1:4).

    A fraud, a madman...or God incarnate?
No person in history has provoked such widely divergent assessments as Jesus of Nazareth. Some say He was a cunning fraud, while others say He must have been out of His mind. In many cases, His story is altered to suit the fancies of those seeking to make Him an ally for a host of militant causes.
However, as Dr. R.C. Sproul points out in this Crucial Questions audiobook, there is compelling evidence that Jesus was something more - that He was, in fact, God in the flesh. By wrestling with the biblical titles for Jesus and the accounts of His life and ministry, Dr. Sproul unfolds the scriptural portrait of Jesus, the Son of God.
    Members Reviews:
Biblical truth by reputable Christian theologian
I began this series with this, the first in the Crucial Questions series by R. C. Sproul, as part of my daily studies. I determined to get back to basics and it doesn't get more basic than the question of who Jesus is. I enjoyed this small book. It has only three chapters but is deep in doctrine and rich in content. I look forward to the next book in this series.
    Who Is Jesus?
A quote from the book will be sufficient:
No person in history has provoked as much study, criticism, prejudice, or devotion as Jesus of Nazareth. The titanic influence of this man makes Him a chief target of the arrows of criticism and a prime object of revision according to the interpreter's prejudice. Thus, the portrait of the historical Jesus has been altered to suit the fancies of those seeking to line Him up on their side, to make of Him an ally in a host of militant causes, many of which are mutually exclusive. In the theologian's laboratory, Jesus is treated like a chameleon; He is forced to adapt to the backdrop painted by the theologian.
    Very Thought Provoking
Once again RC challenges us with fresh insights about our Savior. The depth of study required to author books of the quality of this one, is almost mind boggling. Praise God for men like RC Sproul who dedicate their life to study and prayer in order to present opportunities for men like me to grow in mind and spirit.
    A fantastic and informative read
A fantastic and informative read. The author and this book, in my opinion, is for those with a solid understanding of Christianaity looking for a deeper understanding. This book is pretty straightforward and the title tells you exactly what it covers.

    Narrator: Stephan Grozinger
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 13 hrs and 19 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 11-01-17
    Publisher: Stephan Grozinger
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
Christianity appears to be in sharp decline. Between 2007 and 2014, the number of adults in the United States who consider themselves Christian dropped from 78% to 70%. For two millennia, despite many profound challenges, Christianity experienced nothing but exponential growth.
Now, in the last decade, Christians are simply walking away from religious affiliation. What is going on? Will faith inevitably decline? Will our understanding of God become secularized until he is nothing but a metaphor for what is good and noble in humanity?
Author Stephan Grozinger argues that faiths best years are still ahead of it. He explores recent advances in science and philosophy regarding the question of whether human beings have free will and concludes that we do not. But far from being a source of anxiety or even a death sentence for faith, this idea may be the instrument of its renewal.
Grozinger describes how, in its earliest years, Christianity came under the thrall of Platonism, which offered some proofs of God's existence, but at a heavy price. The influence of Plato created a hybrid vision of God: the unconditionally loving God of Scripture and an immovable god, the very Form of Good, who commands, tests, rewards, and punishes. The same powerful evolutionary forces that shaped our bodies and minds seduced us into thinking these two contradictory visions could be reconciled.
Christianity became a religion that encouraged good, socially useful behavior and turned itself into a scold. Unable to embrace the conclusions of science and philosophy regarding free will, popular-culture faith was left behind and often insults our intelligence and offends our moral sensibilities.
But faith's original message is still compelling. By setting aside Plato's influence, a more ancient vision of God and our relationship to Him emerges.
    Members Reviews:
He claims this - not some moralistic value system - is what truly makes Judeo-Christianity counter-cultural and that we naturall
Two things make this book startlingly different from everything that has come before it: Most commentators, from antiquity to modernity, have approached the question of free will and grace by comparing competing scriptural passages and declaring either human free will or Godâs sovereignty more important than the other based on what passages spoke most powerfully to them. They inevitably split the baby and gave one precedence over the other, but never fully dispensed with either. This book approaches the question entirely differently. It starts from the conclusion, based on science and philosophy, that human beings donât have free will, and then reviews the scripture from that unique, fresh perspective. While every organized religion claims that some people either earn or are predestined to receive or accept Godâs grace and leaves others out, Grozingerâs theology is unabashed, uncompromising universal salvation. He claims this - not some moralistic value system - is what truly makes Judeo-Christianity counter-cultural and that we naturally dislike it as a result of the environment in which our minds evolved. A very thoughtful and well written book.
This is not a rehashing of dusty arguments about Augustine ...
This is not a rehashing of dusty arguments about Augustine, Calvin, prevenient grace and predestination. Grozinger barely mentions them. Instead, he takes a modern approach.
