What a blessing it is to share with you this bright life that is soon to turn 70.

But not all lights burn bright all the time… and as much as I preach to Shine On,  Shine On….there are times in our life when we allow our sin to turn the light off from within leaving us in darkness. BUT it’s in these times we are given a choice: To stay and hide in the dark, or to humble ourselves and step out before an all-knowing God and allow the light of His son Jesus to cleanse/purify our sin, forgive our transgressing heart, and mend and heal our wounds and the lives of others.

In Episode 12 David Simpson provides a life’s work of insight on success, marriage, parenting, how to have Fun with our Faith, and David shares many unique perspectives and practical application on ways to live for Christ wherever we are…even at work.

Brian and his wife Warrie have been serving on Mercy Ships since 1994 and have truly been living a life of service, faith, and great reward. Brian serves as principal on the Africa Mercy, and Warrie serves as the ship’s Managing Director. Their two beautiful daughters Addison and Alyssa are also “part of the crew” and are students on the ship as well. 

Listen in to this sweet story of life lived out on a floating hospital ship, how God moved in Brian’s heart to take this step of faith, how God showed faithful early on by overwhelmingly taking care of Brian’s missionary expense and removing all of Brian’s fear, and the courage and trust him and Warrie displayed thru their unpredictable and surprising road towards adoption. In 2013 while deployed in the Air Force Capt. Chris Cochrane suffered an infection of the heart valve which led to several strokes. His recovery consisted of numerous surgeries and intense physical and speech therapy. Chris conquered the obstacle with unwavering determination while learning how to walk and talk and eventually landed a spot as an athlete of the US Wounded Warrior Games team.
In 2017 Chris had another fall that fractured his skull, but once again he persevered and fought his way out of the hospital (3 altogether) including 4 months of intense recovery. In March 2018 Chris passed away and went to be with his Lord and Savior. Since then Ashley has honored Chris by living out his values of joy, peace, and life to the fullest that he so beautifully showed each day since his stroke. 
Ashley will share her heart on this trial, the wisdom received, and other BIG news that you’ll just have to tune in to hear!

SSP was blessed to welcome Paul Emmanuel Schmidt to the show for Episode 5! Paul has been married to his beautiful wife, Sarah, for over a decade. They have two brave and strong daughters who are full of life and sunshine. He loves to spend quality time with Holy Spirit in the mornings before sunrise, sing & play worship music with his guitar, eat and live a healthy lifestyle (with a cheat meal here and there), be outdoors, take hikes, and go on adventures with his wife and two daughters.

Paul and his wife have been involved with their music ministry now for over ten years. They have a passion for leading people into the presence of God through worship.

Paul and Sarah also have owned their own business Sarah & Paul Photography now for over seven years. They specialize in wedding photography, but also enjoy photographing couples, families, and newborns.
