Recap: The Golden Knights were playing for sweep with a victory over the Colorado Avalanche in Game 4. Vegas’ captain Mark Stone struck first with his fifth goal of the postseason.
Both teams traded power play opportunities but neither could find the back of the net. After 40 minutes, the Golden Knights remained ahead 1-0.
Vegas held Colorado to one shot on net in the majority of the final frame. Cole Smith added VGK’s second goal to essentially lock up the sweep. Colorado tipped a puck home to bring it within one, but could not get any closer. The Golden Knights have secured their ticket to the Stanley Cup Final.
The Golden Knights swept the Avalanche to become the 2026 Western Conference Champion. Vegas will now prepare for the Stanley Cup Final beginning in early June. It’ll be the Golden Knights third trip to the Stanley Cup Final.(Recap by Jason)
Analysis: There’s just something about closeout games that brings out the best in the Golden Knights. They were absolutely brilliant in Game 4, laying the wood on the Avs in every way possible. They got the early goal and it took a while to build on it and eventually slam the door shut on Colorado’s Presidents’ Trophy-winning season, but they finally did in the 3rd period. VGK were stupendous along the walls and in loose pucks and it left Colorado dazed and confused. The Golden Knights are the Western Conference Champions and they are heading to the Stanley Cup Final next week in Carolina or Montreal. (Recap by Ken)

Recap: The Golden Knights were playing for a commanding 3-0 series lead of the Western Conference Finals with a victory in Game 3. The desperate Avalanche struck first early in the opening period. Minutes later Colorado took a 2-0 advantage. Vegas believed they had cut the deficit in half but Pavel Dorofeyev’s goal was waived off. Seconds later the Avalanche added a shorthanded score to make it 3-0.
In his first game back since Game 1, Mark Stone cut into Colorado’s lead early on a 2nd period power play. Several shifts later William Karlsson scored his first goal of the postseason to get Vegas within one. Later in the frame Keegan Kolesar tied the game 3-3 with his first Goal of the playoffs.
Close to the midway point of the final frame Tomas Hertl gave Vegas their first lead of the game. Brett Howden added the late empty net goal to seal the game.
The Golden Knights take a 3-0 series lead by defeating the Avalanche 5-3. Vegas can advance to the Stanley Cup Final with a Game 4 win on Tuesday at 5 PM from T-Mobile Arena. (Recap by Jason)
Analysis: A tale of two periods as the Avalanche were all over VGK to open the game. Everything the Golden Knights were doing well in the first two games went away for 20 minutes. Then, as the puck dropped in the 2nd, it completely shifted the other way. VGK started dominating possession, they won every loose puck, and completely dominated Colorado. It was going to come down to which team could carry it into the 3rd period and that unequivocally the Golden Knights. Tomas Hertl came up with a beautiful goal to break the tie and VGK are one win away from another trip to the Stanley Cup Final. (Recap by Ken)

Tomas Hertl with an incredible inside out move to his backhand and VGK have scored 4 straight to turn this thing completely around.
They have a 3rd period lead in a game they trailed by 3 after 20, and are 11:39 from a 3-0 series lead in the Western Conference Final!

What a frame from VGK.

More great wall play from the Golden Knights. Marner comes out with one along the boards, fades back to the blue line before getting it on net and Karlsson clean up the rebound.

Recap: The Golden Knights were searching for a 2-0 series lead of the Western Conference Finals with a victory in Game 2. Colorado struck first with under five minutes left in the opening frame. After 20 minutes, the Avalanche held a 1-0 edge.
Colorado committed two penalties on way play setting Vegas up with a four-minute power play, but the visitors committed their own infraction and failed to score. The middle frame was full of penalties from each team. However, neither could find the back of the net, and the score remained the same after two periods.
Vegas had several chances in the first half of the third period but couldn’t tie the game. Later in the frame, Jack Eichel tied the score with his second goal of the playoffs. Minutes later Ivan Barbashev gave Vegas their first lead of the game. Barbashev nailed an empty-netter and defeated Colorado 3-1.
The Golden Knights take a 2-0 series lead by defeating the Avalanche 3-1 in Colorado. Game 3 of the Western Conference finals is scheduled for Sunday at 5 PM PT from T-Mobile Arena. (Recap by Jason)
Analysis: It was far from a pretty game from the Golden Knights’ perspective but they stuck with it like they have all season long. The Avalanche were a perfect 41-0-0 in the regular season and 4-0 when leading after the 2nd period. Jack Eichel came through with his biggest moment of the postseason and then continued wall work helped the Golden Knights take the lead a few minutes later. VGK have come into Ball Arena, against the Presidents’ Trophy winners, without their captain, and won both games by multiple goals. Absolutely incredible. (Recap by Ken)

WALL PLAY!
What did I tell you. VGK win on the walls three times in a row and it eventually gets to Barbashev who wires it past Wedgewood.

Recap: The Golden Knights were trying to take the opening lead of the Western Conference Finals with a victory in Game 1. Each team traded chances throughout the first frame, but neither could find the back of the net. Both were awarded a power play but failed to convert their opportunities into any goals. After 20 minutes, the game was locked in a scoreless tie.
Past the midway point of the 2nd period Dylan Coghlan snapped the scoreless tie with his first goal of the postseason. Minutes later postseason goal leader Pavel Dorofeyev added to his total by scoring his 10th on the power play.
Early in the final frame Vegas took a 3-0 advantage. Colorado fought back and got within one. With under a minute Nic Dowd finished off the game with an empty net goal.
The Golden Knights take a 1-0 series lead by defeating the Avalanche 4-2 in Colorado. Game 2 of the Western Conference finals is scheduled for Friday at 5 PM. (Recap by Jason)
Analysis: What an opening game for the Golden Knights. They successfully turned the game into a low-event style and limited the Avs chances off the rush. Then, when they had a couple of looks, they were able to capitalize in the 2nd period. Frustrating Colorado is so important for VGK in this series and they were able to do it as each period wore on. Carter Hart had a really strong game, especially with his glove that erased a lot of the best looks from Colorado. That being said, VGK were also excellent at keeping those chances to the outside and winning on second chances in front of him. The Avs had a push once the game got to 3-0, and Vegas are going to have to be ready for even more of it in Game 2, but for tonight tremendous game all around for the Golden Knights who are now full of belief that they can not only keep up with this team, but take them down. Already liking VGK's structure through the middle. Avs are not getting into the zone cleanly very often and they are trying to force their way through. Good things will happen if VGK can keep it that way.

The NHL has announced that the Golden Knights will forfeit a 2nd Round pick in the 2026 Draft as a result of “flagrant violations of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs Media Regulations.”
John Tortorella has also been fined $100,000.
Following the Golden Knights’ 5-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center to clinch a place in the Western Conference Final, John Tortorella declined to attend the required postgame press conference.
In addition, the Vegas locker room was not opened to the media as it typically is following games. One player, Shea Theodore, was brought into an auxiliary dressing room to answer questions and his press conference was cut short by the public relations staff in less than three minutes. Mitch Marner and Brett Howden fielded questions at the podium, as is standard after a playoff win, but quickly made it clear they were in a hurry, with Marner even outwardly joking about it before even sitting down.
The Golden Knights insisted the team bus had to leave so they could make their flight.
The NHL added that “the imposition of these penalties comes after previous warnings were issued to the Club regarding their compliance with the Media Regulations and other associated policies.”
Vegas has the right to appeal, which will take place in person next week in New York.

Recap: The Golden Knights were trying to advance to the Western Conference finals by eliminating the Ducks in Anaheim. Mitch Marner scored immediately into Game 6 with a nifty move to give Vegas a quick 1-0 advantage. Later in the period, Vegas committed a minor infraction, but Brett Howden scored a shorthanded goal, his NHL record-tying third of the playoffs, making it an early 2-0 victory. Shea Theodore completed the trifecta with a power play goal. Vegas held a 3-0 lead after one period of action.
Vegas took multiple penalties in the middle frame which Anaheim took advantage of. However, the Golden Knights held a 3-1 edge going into the 2nd intermission.
A few minutes into the final period Pavel Dorofeyev scored his 8th and 9th goal of the postseason to give Vegas a 5-1 3rd period advantage.
The Golden Knights eliminate the Ducks 5-1 and advance to the Western Conference Final. Game 1 of the WCF against the Colorado Avalanche begins on Wednesday, May 20th. Puck drop in Denver is scheduled for 5 PM. (Recap by Jason)
Analysis: VGK’s ability to raise its game in Game 6 after un-tying a series is absolutely incredible. Last series, they played their best game in this situation, and once again, they did it in Game 6 in this one. They did exactly what you must do to make a team go away; score early, keep pressing, don’t give them hope. VGK continued to stay patient throughout the game and made it look easy to eliminate another team in this postseason. Next up is Colorado, the real test in the West. (Recap by Ken)

This one might be even more dominant than the Game 6 of last round. I cannot stress enough just how impressive it has been for VGK to put themselves on the doorstep of winning a series and go on to play the best game of the season over and over and over again. 6 times out of 6.

Recap: The Golden Knights were trying to extend their series lead to 3-2 with a victory over the Anaheim Ducks in Game 4. Brayden McNabb was whistled for a questionable major penalty, leading the Ducks to a five-minute power play. Vegas killed off most of the penalty but the Ducks were able to get on the scoresheet first. Minutes later the Golden Knights evened the game with a Pavel Dorofeyev power play goal. After 20 minutes the game was locked in a 1-1 tie.
Both teams traded chances in the 2nd period but both goaltenders kept it a scoreless period.
Under five minutes into the final frame, Tomas Hertl broke the tie to give the Golden Knights a 2-1 lead. The Ducks pushed back and eventually tied the game late to force overtime.
Dorofeyev scored the game-winner in overtime to give Vegas a 3-2 victory.
The Golden Knights take a 3-2 series lead by defeating the Ducks 3-2 in OT. Game 6 of the Second Round seven-game series is scheduled for Thursday night in Anaheim. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:30 PM. (Recap by Jason)
Analysis: A controversial major penalty put the Golden Knights behind the 8-ball early in this game. Not only was Brayden McNabb kicked out of the game, but they allowed a goal on the ensuing power play. When the game settled in afterwards, it was the most open game of the series and it appeared VGK were going to get the better of it as they led late in the 3rd. They continued doing it in OT and eventually were able to break through with an awesome finish by Dorofeyev. The Golden Knights are now up 3-2 in the series after winning Game 5. They’ve been here five times before, including two weeks ago, and it’s gone extremely well in Game 6 every single time. (Recap by Ken)

Recap: The Golden Knights were trying to extend their series lead to 3-1 with a victory over the Anaheim Ducks in Game 4. The Ducks olenwd the scoring with their first power play goal of the series. However, Pavel Dorofeyev scored a power play goal of his own to tie the game 1-1 midway through the period. With under five minutes remaining the Ducks scored to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
Early into the middle frame Vegas’ leading goal scorer Brett Howden evened the score with his seventh goal of the postseason. Anaheim regained their lead with a late period power play goal.
The Golden Knights began the final 20 minutes on the power play but couldn’t score. A minute later the Ducks took a crushing 4-2 advantage. Vegas got within one with Tomas Hertl’s first goal in an eternity but couldn’t get any closer.
The Ducks even the series at 2-2 by defeating the Golden Knights 4-3 in Anaheim. Game 5 of the second round seven-game series is scheduled for Tuesday night at T-Mobile Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:30 PM. (Recap by Jason)
Analysis: Honestly didn’t hate that game from VGK’s perspective. They played the game with a bunch of speed and looked dangerous most of the times they were in the offensive zone. Defensively, the blocking game was back on and if it weren’t for some goofy hops and seeing-eye pucks it would have gotten the job done. Special teams was really the biggest disappointment as the PK finally broke and the power play couldn’t bail them out, especially on the two in the 3rd period. Series is tied, VGK are coming home. Road team has been better in the first four games, VGK need to change that in Game 5. (Recap by Ken)
