"an origin story is an account or backstory revealing how a character or group of people become a protagonist or antagonist, and it adds to the overall interest and complexity of a narrative, often giving reasons for their intentions." - wikipedia, 2020
2020 has been a really difficult year for a lot of us. if there's one thing i've learnt throughout this complicated and intricate life of mine, it's that nothing is wasted. even the most complicated and inexplicable turn of events in our life can be woven into a greater narrative, despite how illogical the chain of events that happen might appear to be on the surface. every painful thing can be redeemed into something beautiful, and my life is a (on going) testament to this truth.
maybe you felt like you lost yourself this year, like suddenly what you thought mattered suddenly seems insignificant and you're struggling to find a sense of purpose in anything you do anymore. maybe you're in a program at school that you've committed years of your life to, only to realize it's not what you want to do anymore... or maybe the most important relationship you've ever been in has closed it's final chapter.
on today's first official episode, i invited award winning host Zac Monson to have a candid conversation about my life to unravel the making of GION.
i wanted to make this episode so that you might be encouraged to know that you're never as far gone as you feel you might be. there's always hope. there's always a greater underlying origin story being told. so here's mine.
