In this episode of Sinfonicast, Jack Schmidt and Ryan Smith discuss the last time the National Council was called by the NEC to amend the NC&B to implement the Triennial Reorganization.  They also discuss the ballot proposal present to the National Council's delegates and give their impressions on each of the 6 questions.

This episode of Sinfonicast focuses solely on the latest Health and Safety Protocols from the National Fraternity for the Initiation Ritual.  The first part is dedicated to summarizing what was in the document and the second part is our takes on it.  This tries to make the protocols easy for all brothers to understand, but it is greatly encouraged to read for yourself if you have a part to play in the organization of the ritual or ceremonies.  Any questions should be directed to the National Staff.

We have Dave Friday on the podcast once again to hear about what's new with him and to get his insight.  He was planning a Province 2 Leadership Retreat and we discussed his view on ceremonies and rituals being done in a COVID world.  Very fun and enlightening conversation that is worth listening to!

Ryan and Jack talk about different Phi Mu Alpha music performances they have seen or heard about during their time in Sinfonia.  It ranges from how to do MMMs, unique concerts or AMRs, and even ideas during COVID like Rich Crosby's virtual recital!  This episode also includes an intro from Brother Jyron Joseph at Iota Omicron's American Music Recital as well as a few songs performed at the concert.

Want to have  a PM class this Fall or Spring? Is COVID getting in the way?  Well Brother Nate Ward and I had a great conversation of what he will be doing to have a class safely this Fall.

Brother Eric Smith was initiated in Nu Iota at South Carolina State University.  He served as CPR of Province 30, and he is the VP of the Midlands Aera Alumni Association.  We had an amazing conversation about the history of HBCUs in Phi Mu Alpha, his probationary membership experience, and where we would like to see Sinfonia go in the future.

This episode of Sinfonicast is a special one.  We are talking to Jule Streety to learn how American Identity began to form at the turn of the Twentieth Century.  Part 1 focuses on the beginning with the Boston Six, a group of composers that socialized together and created music with the effort to be distinctly American.  Jule and I take bits from different symphonies from these composers, read articles of the time, and much more to explore the birth of American music.  In Sinfonia, we talk about the origins of our Fraternity and how it was founded on the idea of supporting American music; this three-part series will give context to these lessons.
