Singapore’s cancer deaths: how early cancer screenings could be the key

A study pushing for the use of next-generation sequencing tests is causing alarm over the rate of cancer deaths in Singapore, but there are many other factors that influence this number, such as how aggressive the cancer is and how late a patient presents with the disease. Andrea Heng and Hairianto Diman speak with Associate Professor Ravindran Kanesvaran, Chairman and Senior Consultant, Division of Medical Oncology, National Cancer Centre Singapore. He suggests early cancer screenings to help build a more effective treatment plan and outcomes for patients.
