Living A Strong Single Life.. . You Are Not Alone &You Can do It!
The best part of Ed Houston's Single and Living Free was the last part. Through the book, Ed shows that he is showing, not preaching and that was important to me when I read books in this genre. Ed speaks to the reader, showing them he has weaknesses and then shows how he faces the battle and wins through pray, journaling and more. I was clearly inspired by Ed's journey to live single and free. As a man Ed really shows it's much more harder than women because there is a lot more air and opportunity for men to partake in. I really agree with that. He is a true soldier in the battle against temptation, which moved me as I was reading.
In the last part of the book, Ed not only gives readers a guide to help them on their journey, but teach them how to prepare for what will only be the victory when we find that special someone.
Single and Living Free: An Inspiring Companion for your Personal Journey truly is worth each word written and I applaud Mr. Houston for bravely sharing this guide with others.
The Process of Temptation
As a conference speaker and seminar trainer for single adult conferences, I found Ed Houston's book, "Single and Living Free" both refreshing and insightful. I was blown away with his "GJC" journaling tool that is useful both for self-reflection and goal setting. He includes guidelines and actual charts in the book as a practical aid to readers to help them get started and also provides instruction on how to stay the course. In terms of his insights, his discussion about the Process of temptation in a single person's life was thought-provoking and absolutely accurate. I wanted more! Houston is not afraid to share examples of his own personal struggles as a Christian single man, and how he overcame those struggles and found triumph. This is a must-read for single adults who already know what their issues and struggles are - but who've been waiting for somebody to show them how to really conquer those personal giants and live a really fulfilled and joy-filled life as single person.
Definitely An Inspiring Companion
Single and Living Free: An Inspiring Companion for Your Personal Journey is definitely a must have if you are a Christian single, male or female regardless of age, color, divorced, widowed, single parent, or never been married. As opposed to sitting around and twiddling your thumbs waiting for God to send your spouse and doing nothing in the meantime, Houston encourages the reader to get busy about living and enjoying the abundant Life that has been provided for all through Jesus Christ. Houston encourages the reader to pray and allow God to reveal His purpose for an individual's life by setting personal, career/financial, physical, spiritual, and relational goals. This book is scripturally sound, and it is clear that Houston is writing about what he has experienced.
