November has come and gone and as you all know, new month means new theme with this month's theme being, "Representing the 802, Barbara Crampton, woo hoo!" December will be my Barbar Crampton appreciation month and starting this month off with 2021's, "Jakob's Wife." The Mistress of the Menagerie discusses vampirism being a metaphor for trauma, society placing blame on the victim, and female sexuality/empowerment. Come check it out!

November has come to an end and closing out the theme of "Sit down and let me tell you a story" with the underrated horror anthology, 2018's "Nightmare Cinema." November is still in full swing, continuing to focus on anthology horror movies with the theme of "sit down and let me tell you a story" with the totally underrated, holiday horror starring the amazing Jeffrey Combs, 2019's "Holiday Hell." The Mistress of the Menagerie discusses betrayal, getting the upper hand on the bully, and good old fashion revenge. Come check it out. 

October is over so you know what that means, new month means new theme with this month's theme being, "Sit down and let me tell you a story" where the focus will be anthology horror movies. Starting the month of November with the fun romp into the spirit of Halloween, with 2007's "Trick 'r Treat." The Mistress of the Menagerie discusses female sexuality (females being comfortable in their sexuality), how the sins of the past come back to haunt you, and the fact that bullies never win they get their just desserts in the end. October is coming to an end and the theme of "Old MacDonald has a farm, D-E-A-D dead," where I focus on farm themed horror movies, will be closing out with the underrated supernatural horror, 2007's "The Messengers." The Mistress of the Menagerie discusses Crow symbolism, metaphors for abuse/assault, and asks the questions "Who's the real monster? Is it man or spirit?" Come check it out!

Continuing the theme of "Old MacDonald has a farm D-E-A-D dead," focusing on farm themed horror movies, where the Mistress will be discussing 1981's "Dark Night of the Scarecrow" with special guest, the "Spookies Rap" man himself, John Brennan from The Last Drive-In." The Mistress of the Menagerie and guest discuss defense mechanisms: Projection, the power of suggestion/manipulation, reflecting on how special needs people were treated in the 1980s, and the Mistress may or may not go on a couple of Joe Bob style rants. Starting the month of October with Stephen King's 1984 cult classic, "Children of the Corn." The Mistress of the Menagerie discusses toxic relationships vs. stable relationships, religious symbolism and metaphors, and similarities and differences between the movie and the short story by King. September is coming to an end and sadly, due to some unforeseen events, I will only be doing one more movie for the theme of "Hell Hath no Fury" with the cult classic by the amazing Soska sisters, 2012's "American Mary." The Mistress of the Menagerie discusses the perception of males being turned upside down, taking revenge on the one who assaulted you, and females having the final say on what can and cannot be done with their bodies. New month means new theme, this month's theme being "Hell hath no fury..." where I will be focusing on female directed horror movies. Starting September off with the cult classic, slasher flick with 1982's "The Slumber Party Massacre." The Mistress of the Menagerie discusses phallic looking murder weapons, a satirical look at the cliches within horror movies towards women, and the unconscious part of the mind drive by the Id which motivates our killer to kill. August is coming to an end and I'm wrapping up the theme of "Good Boy...That's a Good Boy" with the 1987, vampire cult classic, "The Lost Boys." The Mistress of the Menagerie discusses good boy Nanook, the adolescent stage of life (Identity vs. Role Confusion), and the sexual attraction/flirtatious nature between David and Michael.
