Consistently Eccentric History

Sir Patrick Moore - (or) Lie me to the moon

Listen Later

This week we are discussing a man who could be described as the perfect example of a truly British eccentric.

Sir Patrick Moore's enthusiasm for astronomy was a passion so intense that he was able to create a 50 year television institution based on the sheer force of his personality alone.

A man who believed that the truth should never get in the way of a good story, he was more than happy to continually update his own biography in order to increase his status as a national treasure. So join us as we go beyond the monocle and try to sift the facts from the fictions in the life of one of the most successful amateurs of the last 100 years.
