Kira Stone (@KiraBethStone) is a composer, lyricist, songwriter, playwright, performer, and music producer fueled by the rhythms and rhymes of pop & hip-hop music, and led by the storytelling of musical theater. Current projects include SALEM (dir. by Sarna Lapine, dramaturgy by Jessica Kahkoska), Built For This (US Women’s Gymnastics Musical) (book by Sara Cooper, dir. by Melissa Crespo), Revival (a new musical about Joan of Arc), a new musical project about the cutthroat pop music industry, and a new musical project in the early stages of creation about her own un-retouched lifelong relationship with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - as well as a few *very new* projects in the ~very early~ stages of development. Kira’s musical work has been developed and presented at Playwrights Horizons, Goodspeed (Festival of New Musicals), New York Musical Festival (R.I.P.), New York Theatre Barn, University of Southern California, the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, and 54 Below. Residencies include: The BringAbout (Brooklyn), Chateau d’Orquevaux in Champagne, France.
