Mariam is a Doctoral Candidate and Vanier Scholar at the University of Toronto Law Faculty, where she specializes in International Trade Law and Development. She is the founder of GetIn Education Consulting and she has been recognised by McKinsey and Co. as one of the 40 Next Generation Women Leaders in Nigeria. She was also a delegate at the World Youth Forum in 2019.
She joins us to talk about ‘The Underestimation Factor’ - the constant questioning of women’s abilities in places of power and influence. The stereotype that men are genetically advantaged over women to take on certain responsibilities and handle certain projects or roles in business, industry and politics.
