Practicing self awareness can feel like a balancing act. On one end it create opportunities to be more considerate in your relationships and helps you to understand your influence on other, good and bad. But on the other hand when placed in too much of an emphasis, especially through lifelong experiences, it can lead to hyper criticism, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and a fear of failure and success. In this episode Ceci and Brittany discuss the difference between internal and external self awareness and what’s most important: knowing yourself and living unapologetically or prioritizing others and the influence you may have on them. Oxford dictionary defines becoming as the flattering of one's appearance or the process of coming to be something or passing into a state. What remains consistent in this definition is that nothing in the process is added or removed, deemed useless or lacking something, but simply transfigured. That means there is an aspect of grace. You automatically “pass”, succeed, or qualify for the next step. You just have to embrace it. Season 1 seeks to investigate what it means to “become” in new spaces, around new individuals and within new ventures while grasping new responsibilities. We seek to answer the question: what does it mean to become who you were meant to be, how do you know you are in a period of transition and what are the tools you need to nurture this growth.
